Welcome buddy. Great pics. My wife and I visited Acadia years ago for one of our wedding anniversary trips and loved it.

You picked the best trim in my opinion. I have the same one but in orange...I mean Hot Pepper Red!

Camped up in Arcadia on a jeep trip in 2001. One of my favorite spots I've been to in the country.

Howdy and greetings from Mount Desert Island, Maine, home of Acadia National Park. I'm J.R., longtime forum lurker and new-to-me Bronco owner.

Last week, I brought home a 2022 Cyber Orange 2-door Basequatch with the 2.3L & 7-speed manual. Before this, my daily driver was a 2006 Jeep TJ (also pictured). The difference between the two is night and day, and I couldn't be happier with the Bronco.

I don't plan on making too many mods (famous last words, right?) since the Sasquatch package is already overbuilt for the handful of gravel fire roads on the island. So far, I've only swapped the Sasquatch fender decals for matte black Bronco script badges, added a color-matched gear-shift grab handle, and a matte black pony on the tailgate so all the trim pieces match. Minor stuff.

Included are a few shots I've taken since picking her up, plus some from around Acadia.

Glad to meet you all. Looking forward to sharing more dispatches from Vacationland soon.

-J.R.

Any back roads, forest roads, trails that are reasonably technical in that area?
Unfortunately, there isn't anything on the island that I would say is "technical." There are a handful of unpaved fire roads which lead to remote trailheads, but nothing my wife's Outback couldn't navigate with ease. I've never been, but I've heard Rocky Mountain Terrain Park is decently technical and only a few hours from Acadia.

Welcome! I never should have sold my TJ, but I do really like my 2-door Mansquatch! How do you like living in Maine?

I still have my TJ--and love it too--but will list it soon to make space for the Bronco. It's been a faithful friend through all seasons here and part of many great adventures.

Maine is an incredible place, but Mount Desert Island/Acadia is a different animal entirely.

The island is just over 100 sq. mi., with pockets that feel like New England, California, or the PNW. We have 20+ (modestly sized) mountains that can all be climbed in a day; remnants of an ancient volcano that was glacially eroded during the last ice age. In 1947, a massive fire burned 10K acres of spruce/pine forests and faster-growing maples, birches, and aspens grew in their place. All of this and more gives MDI a unique look and feel to the rest of Maine.

It's also the perfect place for a Bronco (or Wrangler) to call home. :)
