Better weather means more open-air driving, more weekend trips, and a lot more time parked outside in direct sun 🌞

And once temperatures really start climbing, cabin heat becomes one of those things that’s hard to ignore 🥵

Especially for anyone running doors-off/top-off setups more often during summer 🌴

With the Bronco’s large windshield, upright glass, and removable roof panels, a standard windshield shade only solves part of the problem.

Funny thing is, full-window sunshades are one of those accessories a lot of people ignore at first… until the first real heat wave hits 😅

More Bronco owners have been talking about summer cabin heat lately, especially with temperatures starting to climb again, so full-window sunshade setups have definitely been getting more attention recently:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F23KCKSP

Designed to cover more than just the front windshield and help reduce heat buildup across more of the cabin during longer parked periods ☀🛡

What’s everyone adding to their Bronco summer setup this year? 👀

Anyone here already running a full-window sunshade setup or something similar? Would be cool to hear how it’s been working for you during the hotter months ☀

@Mabett , please create soft doors or some sort of soft door insert that connects to your tube doors for when rain comes up. It is nice to keep the Bronco doors off during summer, but there sometimes are days that come up with rain, and it would be nice to have some lightweight doors to throw on for a day or two quickly instead of putting back on the OEM doors. So many people would buy this product. These sort of doors already exist for Jeeps so it seems like it is a no brainer to create them for Broncos. It has been mentioned in this forum so many times.

I second that.

I have no idea if the AC on my 2022 Badlands even operates. The roof comes off now and goes back on late October. Incan vouch for the performance of the heated seats and steering wheel.

Thin metal frame with canvas like this with zip open window. Simple light and cheap. Black preferably.

Hey guys

We’ve discussed this idea internally quite extensively, and while we can definitely see the appeal, unfortunately, it’s not a project we're able to move forward with at this time.

That said, we truly appreciate the suggestion!

The Bronco community is built on this exact kind of DIY creativity and input. If you do end up bringing it to life yourself, feel free to tag us or share it in the feed —we’d genuinely be interested to see how your build turns out! 🔥

@Mabett why did this idea get scrapped?
Honestly, after digging into it more, the biggest issue was development time.

A soft door insert sounds simple at first, but making it structurally solid, weatherproof, and properly fitted takes way more engineering than most people would expect. Realistically, we’d probably be looking at a 6–8 month development cycle.

By the time everything was ready, summer would already be over, so it just didn’t make sense timing-wise.

Really appreciate you bringing the idea up though — feedback like this genuinely helps shape what we look into next.

@Mabett I hear ya, but this product is very much wanted by the community, and is available for Jeeps. Even if it didn't come out for this summer, there are many more to come. Thanks for responding.
