Not really sure why the repair didn’t work. I’ve seen a few leaks from there but I’ve never had one come back after replacing the seal once.
Really nothing special about that particular seal, it’s similar to many others.
UPDATE on just the Second Dealer attempt to fix Rear OUTPUT SHAFT 7MT Oil Seal Leak. Same Ford dealer Tech installed Seal #3 this week. And New Seal #3 Leaks on original output shaft. Today they have Ordered a NEW transmission OUTPUT SHAFT and I assume a New Seal #4. Is this rear output shaft separate from the MAIN Transmission Shaft???? I would guess this involves removing transmission for disassembly and reassembly of gears and shafts??? Would rather have a new transmission. My March of 2023 7MT is part# MB3R 7003- AA . Wondering If DUCATI has some thoughts on this. Should I be pressing FORD for a New 7MT Transmission with the Updated Syncros ??? BRONCO WARRANTY expires in early June. Clock is ticking. Wondering if this is related to New Recall involving misaligned input/output shafts???

Yeah that’s really odd. I suppose it could have something to do with this recall.

To be honest, I’m still confused about what the recall really is though. I have no idea how someone could possibly misalign the transfer case to the transmission, but I guess we’ll just have to wait until there’s more information there.

But yes, the transmission will need to come out and be disassembled to replace the output shaft. But only the rear case section and the mid plate. It’s actually a pretty easy repair. Most of the gears will stay in the front case.

I would certainly be contacting Ford to try and get a whole assembly considering how many times the previous repairs have failed. Can’t guarantee they’ll give you a whole unit, but it’s worth a shot.

Thank You Ducati. I watched a well done You Tube Big Ben's Cars & Cycles FORD BRONCO TRANSMISSION REMOVAL 7 SPEED MANUAL MT88 2.3 L 2 door. I now understand a lot more on what's involved to just remove transmission and transfer case. Also watched a couple videos on similar Getrag MT82 6 speed disassembly. Going to speak with FORD to see if I have a chance at an upgraded Trans through the grinding sounds Syncro TSB and my multiple rear seal leaks.

I am also on this recall list - will drop feedback once it goes in and gets looked at

While it's in I will ask about the split in my drivers seat ......I really like this truck but damm I have zero confidence this thing will last, I hope i am wrong. 3 years 4 months @ 43k. My wifes 13 VW has seats that look new with over 100k on it

anyone take their truck in yet to be checked or have any issues they suspect is related to this?
I see the recall is still in the "no parts to fix it yet" stage but curious about this one

There’s nothing to check yet. Have to wait for inspection/repair instructions to be released.

Thx @Ducati1098 ....I suspected that was the case but wanted to bring it up to see if anyone had gone in.

Im getting a vibration at a couple different speeds front rh wheel. Feels like tire / wheel needs balancing. Will have that checked and hope that's all that is

I'm kinda of surprised that Dealers will crack open and do internal repairs on a transmission, but won't touch the differentials.

Just the FDU on the bronco really. We rebuild most other differentials.

Not related. That’s just the driveshaft. Very well documented concern.
I've also had this since new. I thought I would lose it when they rebuilt my diff, but no, it's still there!
Does this develop into a larger issue if left unserviced?

Not, not at all. Just an annoyance

Mine doesn’t come up on the recall notice (mine hasn’t been repaired previously) but I just had an incident where the transfer case-drive shaft coupling went out and caught fire while I was driving on a local toll road.
I took it to the dealership thinking this recall would apply, but they’re saying it’s from the extra stress of lifting it recently…which smells like BS.
Pics from after I put it out and the next morning.
