Should be under $1700 for the rack and procal with tune. Installing for more than $500 on top of that is crazy IMO but depending on your area /limitations maybe you have to bite the bullet.

Yeah, I can buy the rack and procal for 1800-1900 but I can’t find a reasonable installation price/guy. 1600 looks steep for work

I want to but ProCal and have the performance tune. Can I do it? What was a problem from in your case? And in general, to do that, is it better to work with a dealership or just knowledgeable mechanic (both for the rack and for performance tune)?

Ford support had to send an updated file to load to the Procal. It sounds like this is common for performance tune procal units. Once the update was added the calibration worked without issue.

Anyone have this creak on slight turn of the wheel? It's not the tires on the pavement. Upgraded steering rack has about 5k miles on it.

I'm hesitant to take it to a dealer. They want a $220 diagnostic fee plus if the dealer install did it wrong, it's not under warranty.

Question, I did the Procal performance tune installation around Christmas of '24 on my ’22, 2-dr WT. I swear somewhere in the process of doing the Procal setup/tune download/tune installation I was prompted in the process to enter what steering rack I had on the truck. Is that a newer feature to maybe resolve the Procal rack problems, or has the Procal performance tune always done that and my success is a craps shoot? I've got the rack on hand and the rack software downloaded to the Procal, but all the talk of Procal issues have made me gun shy about the actual installation.

I'm in a similar boat as you -'24 Black Diamond with the ProCal Performance Tune installed. Finger on the buy button for the rack, but worried about what I'm reading with all the "had to call the Ford Performance guys to sort it out".

The 6G think tank has informed me I can try programing my new rack with out removing the original rack. So, I'm going to give it a shot when the weather is better...or I take my rack off to get in the garage. I have the calibration loaded on my Procal and that sounds like it might be 1/2 the challenge.

My problem was getting the calibration onto the procal, so I’d think you’re good.
