Is it possible to remove the front passenger seat and still be able to drive? Idk if there is any airbag sensors or anything that wouldn’t let you do that?

Reach under and disconnect the harness under the seat and go for a drive. Easy way to see if there will be an issue.

You'll see a single harness coming up near the bump where the AC vent would be.

If that works. It's just 4 bolts (front two under the plastic trim) and the seat is out.

I'd be surprised if you didn't get an error message after doing it. The passenger seat has an airbag in it and a sensor for the front passenger airbag. No harm in trying, though. Just follow @Theherofails method.

you're probably gonna get a seatbelt warning as well. when removing the rear seats, i believe that a 2.4 ohm resistor on the wiring harnesses solves that warning. i wonder if the same resistor(s) would work on the front passenger seat.

anyone brave enough to test the airbag electronics? :D

I took the front passenger seat out of my 2-door to build a sleeping platform.

Each time you start the Bronco, you’re presented with a warning on the cluster that says: Rear Belt Monitor Fault. Service Required, which you can dismiss. After that you’ll have an airbag light and a little seatbelt icon with a question mark.

I’m contemplating something similar, but on a temporary “trip by trip basis”. Only pulling the front seat out once or twice a year. Any feedback on your 2D’s behavior since removing the seat? I’m guessing that you’ve simply been ignoring the errors?

Looks like @broox is not a frequent visitor to the forums these days. Must be out enjoying life!

So my question B6G is this: Has anyone removed their front passenger seat (2Door) and found a way to defeat the dash warning?

I have already defeated the rear seatbelt warning as my rear seats are long gone, however the front seat harness is different. Airbags, etc.

I had a new idea last night and I’m quite keen on leaning more about this harness.

cheers.

This would only be for occasional trips, maybe once or twice a year.

I have a ADGU rear drawer system. My idea is pretty simple, replace the passenger seat with a cooler. I have a drawer system and this may work out to create a sleeping platform. It would be tight, but could be fun. Rough measurements suggest my cooler would fit, and I could build a simple wooden box that uses the seat mounting locations to level the cooler with the platform and provide tie down locations.

Nothing says "Uni-Bomber like lifestyle" than a one seat Bronco....
If people want to ride in a Bronco they can go buy their own, or hook up with the countless extroverts who can't do anything by themselves.

I'm looking at tossing the front seat for some extra room when traveling. This thing is an awesome solo machine, but with a dog crate in the back, it would be nice to regain some room up front for stuff. That passenger seat is just in the way and serves no purpose.

Hopefully some more progress gets made on the errors. I know there is probably only a handful of people who would even consider this, so I don't expect a huge interest from the brain trust.

I'm curious if one of those seatbelt chime stoppers would take care of the seatbelt warning light? https://seatbeltextenderpros.com/end-ding-seat-belt-alarm-stop/

I thought someone on here replaced their driver side seat with a custom one, and the shop that did it figured out the proper ohm resistor in a dummy plug to resolved the warning? Do a search. Pretty sure the seat was a Scheel-Mann for the search.
