I just finished adding skid plates, bumpers, winch, recovery gear, etc to our Bronco, and I'm wanting to change out springs to get some of the lift back and better support the added weight.
Someday down the road, I'll probably add some height adjustable coilovers, but for now I'm hoping to swap springs on the factory fox shocks that come with the hoss 3.0 suspension on our Wildtrak.
I'm trying to decide if I should get the regular eibach springs, or the HD version.
Stock weights with driver and full fuel were 3020 lbs on the front axle, and 2360 over the rear axle. After the mods, the weights are 3200 and 2660. Ride height dropped 1/2" in the front and 3/4" in the rear.
I know eibach recommends 250 lbs constant addition in the front and 500 lbs in the rear. We're currently at 180 lbs and 300 lbs. We'll probably add some lights up front, so the weight may go up slightly more in the front but not too much. We'll easily add 200 lbs of camping gear sometimes, but that won't always be in the rig.
My concern is that if I go with the regular springs, I'm going to sit nose high if we add any more weight to the rear all all. But, if I go with the HD springs, I'm worried normal driving being too harsh.
Anyone have any helpful insights?
