Hey everyone — I recently installed the Broaddict TrailDeck drawer system in my Bronco and wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone who’s been researching low-profile storage options.

I also filmed the full install and review which I’ll link below, but here’s a written breakdown of my thoughts after installing it and running it for about a month.

Why I Chose This System

One of the biggest things I look for in any rear storage solution is how well it uses space without sacrificing usability. The Bronco doesn’t have a ton of cargo room to begin with, so anything that eats up vertical space can quickly become frustrating — especially for daily use with kids, groceries, and gear.

The Trail Deck stood out because it’s a low-profile design that still allows the rear to lay flat while adding a pull-out platform and some storage.

Install Experience

The install was honestly straightforward.

The instructions recommend two people (mainly for lifting into place), and that was helpful. If you’ve never removed the rear carpeted section before, that’s probably the most confusing part — you’ll need to pop off the plastic covers near the tie-downs to access bolts.

Once the area is cleared, installation is basically positioning the unit and bolting it down.

Realistically, the install itself took about 10 minutes once everything was prepped.

As someone who isn’t the most mechanically gifted, I’d rate the install a 10/10 for simplicity.

Fitment Notes

  • Still works with a tailgate table (tight but functional)
  • Maintains access to rear jack/tools compartment
  • Includes protective tape for side contact areas
  • Rubber mat with Velcro helps keep things from sliding
Living With It — One Month Later

I’ve been daily driving with the Trail Deck installed and using it for normal life plus light off-road prep.

Here are some real observations:

Noise:
There is some light noise over bumps — not surprising since it’s aluminum and steel — but nothing excessive. With music on, I barely notice it.

Practicality:
This has actually been great for everyday use, especially groceries and loading gear. Being able to slide the platform out creates a really usable workspace.

Overlanding / Gear Use:
I keep recovery gear, air hoses, and smaller items organized. The drawer is intentionally shallow, so you do have to be selective about what goes inside.

If you’re expecting to store all recovery gear in the drawer, this isn’t that kind of system — it’s more about balance between storage and open cargo space.

Storage Tradeoffs

Because of the slim profile:

  • You gain usable vertical cargo space
  • You lose deep drawer capacity
For me, this was worth it because I previously had a taller system that made daily loading awkward.

Platform Strength

Rated at 265 lbs. I tested sitting and standing on it (~165 lbs) and it felt solid and stable.

What I Like Most

  • Low profile keeps cargo area usable
  • Slide-out platform is genuinely practical
  • Still allows flat sleeping setup
  • Clean, quality construction
  • Tailgate table compatibility
  • Quick install
Things to Consider

  • Drawer is shallow — pack strategically
  • Minor noise on rough roads
  • Not meant for maximum storage builds
Who This Is For

I’d recommend this if you want:

  • A functional rear platform
  • Light storage without losing cargo height
  • A daily-driver friendly setup
  • Occasional camping or overlanding use
If you’re building a full expedition rig with massive storage needs, a deeper custom system might be a better fit.

Overall Impression

After a month of use, I’ve really enjoyed it. It strikes a nice balance between usability, storage, and keeping the Bronco practical for everyday life.

Happy to answer any questions if anyone is considering one — feel free to ask.

Great review! Thank you. Just got mine installed this week and concur with your sentiments.

As for the slight noise, did you install the optional stops and strips? This cleared any tiny noises i heard on mine and its without a sound on any terrain now.

Nice write up, I agree.

I have had mine installed for a few weeks now and its been great for everyday use. Recently have used it to tie down two small animal crates, love the rail system on the sides, and the slide out made it easy to load and unload them. I haven't had the chance to use it for camping trips or anything yet but look forward to it. I put killmat in the rear before installing, thinking of taking the drawer back out and putting in a piece of black carpet with velcro backing or something to give it a more finished look underneath. Solid system.

That would probably help. The sounds I hear are mostly from stuff rattling around within it, so putting the drawer liners in or using the tie downs would probably kill it ... but I rarely don't have my music blaring, so I'm not concerned about the noise at all ... I also have 3 young kids, so if the music isn't blaring, they're making plenty of annoying noise:

"SIX-SEVEN!"

"DAD CAN WE PLAY SIGMA BOY?!?!?!"

random fart noises

When you install the TrailDeck, you have to remove the carpeted piece that would cover the storage and jack. The TrailDeck slides fully out (which is quite useful for loading/unlading gear). When it is slid fully out, you can access the additional storage/jack.

That gap looks very small. Can you actually remove the jack?

Thanks!
Do you really need to remove the carpet/vinyl flooring? I assume this bolts in to where the large OEM tie down hooks were......seems I have seen photos where this was installed without the carpet removal (it should be able to be mounted on top of it). Good video and I am waiting for the 2 door model to come out this Summer. Thanks!

You could probably install it on top of the factory floor, but it would require longer hardware and possibly some sort of spacer.

But if you did this the deck would now sit about .75” higher than the back seats, making it no longer flat. Also the jack access flap would not be able to open as the previous picture shows that the deck when fully extended still covers part of the jack opening and the jack access flap extends all the way to the rear door trim

I'm looking closer at mounting on top of the flooring but doesn't look promising...you won't be able to open the storage cubby area unless you cut the access panel hinge and the deck may actually hit the tail gate latch pin.

If you are considering doing this I would just cut the vinyl with a box cutter at the hinge so the piece now lifts up and out instead.

Your floor wouldn’t be completely flat with the seats laid down, but it would be closer than it comes from the factory.

You could theoretically build a deeper drawer to replace the one that came with it. Or remove the drawer completely and store a folding table in there. Just a few things I came up with when I considered doing the same.

Had some time yesterday while waiting for my wife and confirmed it does indeed come out. It's tight, but it is accessible with some wiggling and maneuvering.
