It is currently -25 C where I live. You don't need to have a vehicle running for more than 2 cycles. Your vehicle warms up way faster driving it than it does idling. 15 minutes of idling is enough idle time even in -40C. Heck, 5 minutes of idling is enough - get in and drive and it's warm in minutes.

I've no dog in the fight... but maybe Ford wants to limit how many times the rig will remote start and warm up in case your fob or phone app is getting pressed inadvertently(?)

If it was left such that the fob was turning on the vehicle constantly overnight (think... button 'pressed' inside your folded/wadded up pants pocket accidentally) you might a wake up and find the rig has been on more than off overnight...

You could go Jon Boy Walton-mode and get an old car you have to put a crank in the front of engine and hand crank until it starts.

If the center button is getting pressed and then within 2 seconds the lock button is pressed twice, whatever is going on in your pants pocket is not accidental, lol.

This is why some order the engine block heater and put it on a timer...fluids can be warm when one goes for a drive across the frozen tundra...

Settle down, it’s not just Ford. A quick internet search will show you people asking why their Volvo, Chevy, Mazda, etc will only allow 2 remote starts before driving. It’s a limitation most modern vehicles have now.

After headaches of dead battery after not starting, my 2024 big bend Bronco in a pole barn that was 36 degrees after 13 days. I figured out how to reset my battery management system that was not coming out of deep sleep. After charging and driving the hell out of it . The only way to get it out of deep sleep was by putting it in accessories and flashing high beams 5 times then tapping brake pedal 3 times to reset all this crap. What the hell is Ford thinking. Now I come to find out, you can only remotely start this 2 times before you have to get behind the wheel. What the hell?? I am pis$ed off? What do people do in severe cold climates????? This is crap and so is Ford for doing this!!!!! I can see limiting run time on remote starts for safety, but not limiting it for 2 times. My pole barn is 500 feet from the house. What an inconvenience. Very dissapointed with Ford for doing this. I can Let my ram 2016 Ram diesel sit for months and not a single problem and start as many times as I want !!! not like Ford!!!! I got this for a tow vehicle for my motorhome. Get your head out of your A$$ Ford!!!! How about making something user friendly. I hope you see this and make some changes. I always buy American if I can But this kind of crap doe's not help America. Love the Bronco, but hate the political bullsht
hook it up to the motorhome and head south.

… the new 2.3 MPC has dual cooling flows. Gets to temperature quickly. Other motors might have the same but not sure.

My 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee will only allow 2 remote starts as well, must be an industry lawyer thing. Sucks as when I'm camping in it in cold weather as I start it before bed and again in the AM but I only get one AM warm-up.

deleted drunken post LOL
Yep, been there too my friend!!

But one note that may help - the Ford Pass app, if you use it to remote start, you can extend the time the car will stay running in the app. Hopefully that helps a little!
