Again, trend bucker here. The Tiger 1200 has a Yoshimura pipe, but with the baffle so it far from obnoxious. The Tiger 800 is still stock, though.

My bro-in-law said he'd really like to go "quading in my Jeep".

A guy out a Tahuya ORV said, "That's a really nice truck to have out here." Which I interpreted as "Nice Bronco, but you're an idiot." I get lots of "Nice Bronco" shout outs there.

But let us not for get that Ford built nearly 1/2 the "Jeeps" during WWII with the designation GPW. And one theory on the origin of the Jeep name is that it derived from the "GP" in GPW, though there are other theories. I personally like to believe all Jeeps are named after Fords.

Edit: And that iconic Jeep grill. It was originally an expensive and fabricated unit. Ford was the one that said, "Why dot we just stamp those grills and slots out of sheet metal?" And they did.

In the past Jeep had a good reputation but when the makers of Fiat got ahold of it they started to really cut corners.

I don't know I'd say the AMC days were all smiles and giggles, but most US cars were pretty crappy then, so "acceptable" was a pretty low bar. I grew up in NW Ohio and news of new, serious problems in Toledo seemed to be a weekly thing. Fortunately the once failed Chrysler saved the day for the newly failed Jeep brand that came from a failed Willy's....only to have Chrysler fail again. Lots of failing going on.

AMF...oh now THOSE were the definition of crap. Go into a dealership in the late '70's and every single new bike on the show room had a cookie sheet under it. When an AMF HD stopped leaking, you knew it was out of oil.

Edit: How weird was it to have a product line that included cheap volleyball, badminton, teather ball sets, bowling balls, bowling alley equipment, oh and motorcycles favored by ruffians.

Edit to the Edit: I guess AMF Brunswick made pool tables, too. That starts with "P" which rhymes with "T" and that stands for trouble, which must be the tie in with the HD biker gangs.

Usually alot of older guys that probably had original broncos come up and say nice truck and want to ask me about it. The common questions are: do you like it, are the tires loud, do you like the soft top is it loud with the soft top. Its impressive i have gotten so much feedback back since the majority of the time ive owned it its been at the dealer getting repaired lol.
Yes its loud, yes i like it, the soft top is great, no the top isnt loud i cant hear it over the tires lol.

I’ve lost track of the compliments and questions since I got it in April, but five were specifically about the color.

Lady #1: “I love the color!”

Lady #2: “Fun color!”

Young guy at the beach: “I was just looking at that same one. Sick!”

The mechanic we use at work:
“I mean….I wouldn’t want to drive it”

Support guy at the dealer: “I’m not sure I could pull off that color”

So, mixed bag

My favorite was at a McDonalds drive thru. The young guy at the window said, Sick Bronco dude. Then when he looked over at me he said, and it's a manual, Oh Dude.

The kid has good taste.

I get a lot of compliments on the velocity blue color, and quite a bit of "How do you like it?" I'll drop my daughter off at school and some kids will point and yell "Look at the Jeep!" Haha.
