Hey all....

I'm in Moab this weekend for the BYOB event on Sunday. I want to try Hell's Revenge tomorrow, including Hell's Gate. I have a 2 door Black Diamond, and have added 35s, the Ford Performance coilovers, severe duty steering rack, and UCAs. I watched a Kia Sorrento and a Bronco Sport make Hell's Gate on YouTube, so I gotta think I can manage it, right?

For reference, I've done Fins & Things, Poughkeepsie Gulch (no Wall), Black Bear, Tabeguache (Grand Junction), Imogene as my toughest trails.

Anyone done it and have some thoughts?

My wife was there in her raptor with a group of broncos about a month ago. From her report, you will have no trouble at all with hell's Revenge. Not that difficult, but pretty scary. The forward facing off-road camera (or whatever you call it) was a necessity. No one in her group was willing to attempt Hell's gate.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Woo! It went great! Skipped the other big obstacles. But even with a super sandy Hell's Gate, we made it up!!

My understanding is that with any reasonably competent rig and driver it is fairly easy, but critically WITH AN EXPERIENCED spotter. I've done Revenge a couple times but never Gate. A spotter is my requirement for getting the only tough spot about 80% of the way up through the notch.

Of course, since I've not done it, this may be a grain of salt...

🫨Any damage at 1:08?
I was cringing at all the wheel spin. I'm guessing no front lockers? At least the rear lockers were on?

I went to Hell's Revenge when I first got my Bronco and it was also my first off-road vehicle. My only experience was the Off Roadeo. Ironically I chickened out at Hell's Gate but then made the ill-advised choice to take the last section of Hell's Revenge, which was way more precarious than Hell's Gate.

He's got a black diamond, so we just have the rear locker. Definitely makes it more interesting. Lol. Great job OP!

Sounds pretty scary. Not sure if I'll ever have the nerve to do any of them. Congrats making it through as well.

Yeah, I was too. I just have the rear locker. Both the guy on the motorcycle at the bottom and the Jeeper I was with said they'd never seen it so sandy. The thing about Hell's Gate is that getting down to it is kinda sketchy, so once you're down there, you're probably better off just going up Hell's Gate.

On the way out, I looked at Escalator, the Staircase, and Tip over Challenge and decided against them. Escalator definitely looked worse than Hell's Gate.
