The dash speakers sound very tinny and shrill is the only way I can think to describe it.
Make sure you have the polarity correct - some adapters are notorious for having the color codes swapped, and this is exactly what it sounds like when the dash speakers are wired backwards

I have a question, have you noticed any reduction in road, tire or other sounds from under the car after using kilmat in the cargo area?
It was a give and take for me. After I used kilmat, there was definitely decreased road noise from the cargo area and the sub seemed to have more "depth" with music. But 3 months later I installed a half-rack on the roof and highway road noise is pretty awful now. So I took one step forward and two back.

Also for those of you like me that are too dumb to read a picture that clearly shows how to wire after the green plug to the amp here you go.

Sorry to sound like an Eegit but not an audiophile, what about non-B&O systems. Is there a point in upgrading, does much of this apply.

Yes. Maybe more so, as the base system starts at a lower spot and can be upgraded well for less money.

There are a ton of threads on upgrading the base system. Most are using Kicker components (which while are no where near audiophile are a great, low cost upgrade)

Most of this will apply, but you will probably use lower cost amplifiers on the base system

i would recommend trail seven. i just upgraded my system for the 2nd time with their plug and play and it's 1000% better than I had before. i also did the alpine select system with 2 amps and 12" sub on the tailgate. it's as perfect sound as i can get in a bronco.

I understood none of what was posted above, Build a harness, I am colorblind and never learned to solder. I could replace a harness, but not make one.

Looked at the Trail Seven but it had listed under packages "factory B&O or non factory B&D" does my vehicle not have no B&O so what is the option.

I told you I know almost nothing about audio. I am really only capable with a shopping list and detailed instructions.

It's easy to spend alot of time and money learning how and still not end up with the results you want. Having the install done by a reputable car audio shop may be a better option.

Hey all, long story short my car got totalled so I bought a bronco. I still have my 6.5" midwoofers and 1" neodymium tweeters from my SPX-65C Skar system, so I'll be using those speakers when I upgrade my B&O system eventually. I'm wondering does anyone have a reason I couldn't (or shouldn't) put the midwoofers and tweeters here? I'm considering putting the tweeters in the speaker pods back here but I think it'd look cooler and throw sound to the driver's seat better if I have them where I put in the little sketch I did on my pic here.
P.S. If anyone has a recommendation for a med kit box, I'm all ears. Something that isn't like $100+ preferably haha.

So I'm in the middle of doing this whole upgrade as per the OP's recommendations. I read through this thread twice and figured I should have learned all I will need to for a successful upgrade.

I happened to run into an issue though..... I read a few times, some of these adapters (72-5603) having incorrect polarity and users possibly having bad sound as a result. So I figure for shits and giggles I had better test this as I hook each speaker up. After doing the sub and getting it tested I started with the rear pods. I have 6 adapters, 4 from crutchfield and 2 from amazon. They are all identical. The large spade (white) is the positive and the small spade (black) is the negative. I start with the drivers side rear pod. (left rear). I plug the adapter in and test with my meter on dc volts. It shows -3.5V. Hmm ok. I figure all these adpaters must be wired wrong and have the polarity backwards. I figured I might as well test the right side rear while I'm sitting there, so I unplug the adpater from the left and plug it into the right. Hook my meter up and low and behold guess what? It shows 3.5V. (correct polarity) I switched back and forth a couple times just to be sure, Left rear shows -3.5volts, right side shows +3.5volts. Same adapter.

Someone want to explain why I'm getting these readings?

Just wanted to say big THANK YOU to those who take the time to do these write ups and everyone else chiming in with their ideas/thoughts.
I completed the subwoofer upgrade and added the kickey key 500.1. The bass is finally present and such a big difference it makes! the B&O subwoofer is laughable compared to this.
Also great idea of putting the amp there in the roll cage. I did have to re-route a harness that was there but is easy enough passing it through the back. just make sure any sharp edges are covered and protected with tape.
I marked with black tape in the roll bar where was the key fob antenna connector so I wouldn't go higher than that. but theres lots of space to put the amp there.

Also didnt have to trim anything on the sub-box other than a tiny tab to put the kicker compR 8" sub. Only had to pry out the beauty ring of the sub and it fits perfectly there.
For reference Its a 2024 lux package Bronco with the B&O.

Thank you all!
