The run the weekend before mine, someone rolled one.

But, at least according to the guides, they were doing something stupid and wanted to see if they could catch some air.

The guides do this run so many times they can do it blindfolded. And these rigs have run it over and over with everybody from 18 year boys with an adrenaline addiction to geriatric grandmothers with ... an adrenaline addiction behind the wheel. So long as you listen to the guides and know which pedal is the gas and which is the brake, it's really very safe.

But accidents can happen... and that's why they also let you buy that insurance. They aren't gonna care if it gets another scratch on the plastic or another small pinstripe on the paint, or you rock chip the windshield.

Yeah, I get someone being stupid, they should be liable. But if some spotter puts me on a bad line, and something happens, or a mechanical failure, that is BS to hold me liable. I'm just enough of a dick to be skeptical, and call it out.

So now we just have to decide to make the epic drive to Moab, or take the easy trip to TN....

Did NH rodeo last weekend with the Mrs. To a great success. Wonderful program and the instructor took extra care to guide my wife though a challenging rock section (she was a co-driver). The experience was much better as a couple.

I was worried about the risk of damaging the Bronco as well, but as was said previously, as long as you aren’t reckless and follow the instructions of the guide, you should be fine. Although my butthole did pucker a bit when I went on three wheels in the video above.

If you can do Moab, I would highly recommend it. The area is iconic and the scenery is truly stunning.

My wife had zero interest until we were a hour into the ride. Then it was 'ok I want to try some'

Here are a couple of videos my girlfriend shot while I was navigating some of the technical parts of the trail.

On the sandy straight trails, we hit about 45 mph.

I can imagine my wife in the right seat shrieking just as that tilt happens. It would be loud. I would be secondhand startled by her shriek.

This has happened numerous times in other scenarios 😆

TN for us was ruts, lot of water/mud(raining bucket before), and a few rocks. Never did I feel sketchy in hitting/breaking anything and I'm a beginner. Definitely still a fun course, but on the slow side as you are following the Bronco in front of you and they aren't going faster than 10mph.
Host resort hotel was a good location, but if you didn't use the resort aspects it was an uncomfortable stay and not worth it.
We are in Chicagoland so no drive was good. I asked specifically about a UP Michigan Offrodeo as you are far from your core upper midwest population centers.

Yeah, we've been to the Smoky's a bunch over the years (only 5 hrs away), and would like to try something new, like Moab.....but it's 1500 miles, too.... it would turn into a week vacation vs a couple days. Probably worth it tho....

I'm a beer guy and Xul in Knoxville is nice, but if I were O-H-I-O like you I would probably head to Vermont as they are known for beer even if they are a bit overrated.
We've talked about doing the Range Rover Experience in VT as it used to have a discount for good Chase customers, but I don't know if it will happen. One program lets you drive all the models even the older ones on the trails. It would be my one chance to do something like this.

Very much worth it. Especially as a road trip. But I don't doubt that all of the Off Roadeo destinations are a good time no matter which one you go to. Moab has a few things going for it though:

It's an iconic off road destination with hundreds of trails of all levels, and if you have your Bronco and a day (or more) after the Off Roadeo, the sky's the limit and the country is beautiful and unique there.

The Off Roadeo in Moab runs on public trails, it isn't some prefabricated course just to show off what the Bronco can do. That meant a lot to me, it was going over a "real" trail that has plenty of real trail reviews and such from offroaders driving all types of vehicles and not some PR gimmick that may be masking some of the drawbacks or engineered just to showcase the Bronco.

The trip out there is a long drive, no doubt, but not horrible, and plenty of interesting things to see and do on the way out and back. Any excuse to put miles on my Bronco is a good one.

If you watched the video with the sound on, you'll hear my partner gasp with an "Oh God", along with gasps from the other attendees watching, when that wheel tilt happened

I've told my wife driving in highway traffic if you flinch from the passenger seat it will attract my eye and distract me so don't flinch.
I have to take my own medicine when she drives as I look over and she is 30+ mph above the speed limit and I need to be super gentle in my complaints.

Yeah, I often get "coached" when driving too!

I also live in Florida. My first Off Rodeo was in Moab without my wife. Just like your wife she had ZERO interest in doing it. I stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge (where the Off Rodeo is headquartered). I had never seen anything like Moab in my life and called my wife and told her she really missed something special.
Since that time we have been to Moab twice and I told her about your post and she told me to tell you "It was the most beautiful place she has ever seen"
We did Texas Off Rodeo together and had fun but the scenery was nothing like Moab.
