Long story short, got pulled over sunday night in my little Toyobaru heading home, new cop I never seen before was ready to crack down on it not having a front plate but let me go due to me handing him my insulin pod in a daze and explaining I was on my way home to change it.

Is it something they're starting to crack down on now, or is it just Colts Neck doing it?

I don't think it's anything new. Some cops stop for it and some don't. Same goes for tint.

I’ve been running no front plate on my BRZ for years. Only got pulled once and it was in a small town where the cops were bored. Honestly think it’s more of a revenue thing than safety

If your jurisdiction requires two plates (fore and aft) then put the two plates on....sorry to inconvenience you, but....get a second bracket.

thats a common misconception, towns don't really make money off of traffic tickets. At least in Nj. Cars look so much better with one plate but run the risk of getting stopped

Most likely. Later I'll ask at the local bar and coffee shops anyway to double check. What year BRZ btw? Got a '25, love her, although todays the Bronco day

I'll toss it on the window if anything, plus drove by a second cop roughly 5 mins later and he didn't even pull a u-turn, so think its the new guy trying to flex what he learned from school

True, but fines aren't points, so its not like I'm gonna lose my license over a front plate. I mean jeez, I also run tints, and sometime in fall, Underglow as well (And hopefully rocklights on my Bronco)

Yeah, go Medical emergency, got me off, and alerted me to new cops

You should be happy that he A.) paid attention in the Academy, and B.) paid attention to details after the Academy unlike the poor slob that didn't even pull a u-turn....You are getting your tax dollar moneys worth out of Rookie.

Im wondering when he knocks that bullshit off

10yrs, no ones busted balls over the plate, had a “I wanna let you off but gotta give you a slap on the wrist” fine over the plate 1 time and now we got two different new ballbusters in town

I use a bracket for the front plate...no drilling can be removed when needed, no problem

I was ticketed once while PARKED in a downtown area for not having the Front Plate attached - talk about selected enforcement. Until I got a Front plate mount I could live with (pictured), I just put the plate on the visor with rubber bands and then just flipped it down when I parked.

I still don't run front plates, it really was a one off by the new cops. I driven by so many Colts Neck cops with both cars, they don't react anymore.

Guess the rookies were trying to prove themselves

You could move to Idaho and learn about our new license plate law that our legislators passed, as if we didn't have more pressing matters.

Ok, here goes...if your vehicle doesn't have a front plate mounting bracket on it, then no front plate is needed. If you have a bracket, then you must have the front plate attached. Yet, the DMV still issues two plates when you register a vehicle. Yeah.....there is a reason Idaho is called the Mississippi of the northwest. Oh....and truck tow hitch testicles are now illegal...and, boobs are now considered indecent exposure! Before it was just genitals.
