The Ford website seems to indicate I can use my phone as a key fob if I have Ford Pass.

I set up the Ford Pass app and connected with my Bronco.

I can lock, unlock and start it from the app but after I get in and press the start button to drive, I get the message “no key detected”

Am I mistaken about the capabilities?

I reckon they are referring to using it as the round key. 😂

We do not have that feature in the Bronco (I wish we did).

My F150 Lightning has it and it's great... most of the time

Yeah, currently this is only available for Ford EVs (as with many other brands it only works with EVs)

That’s the way it’s supposed to work. In case you lose or someone steals your phone they can’t drive it away. But they can use it as an umbrella ☔ if it’s raining.

I set up the ford pass on my '24 braptor and you have to step on the brake and press the start button to activate drive mode.

With the key/fob in your possession. He’s talking about not being able to drive the car without a key/fob-which is true and by design. You can start the car from the Ford Pass app but when you get in you cannot drive the car without the key/fob with you.

This is not true. My 2023 Aviator has the functionality. The Bronco does not have the Bluetooth beacons to support the function.

To be fair, technically speaking I was discussing Ford branded. While Ford owns Lincoln, I wasn’t discussing Lincoln in this case. That is the only Lincoln model I can find that supports it and the Aviator also has a base price that is generally a lot higher than Fords since it is more of a luxury brand. But yes that is a non EV that supports it. For Ford currently it is only the Mach-E and F-150 Lightning. Which is “generally” the case in other models.
I do wish that wasn’t the case though, I want the feature.
