Considering a '25 OBX with the color and roof my wife wants, except it doesn't have the Lux package. Most of the features she won't miss, but the one she will from her current ride is the front parking sensors.

I'm assuming it's possible to add them, but what does it entail? Is it as simple as getting the correct bumper parts, sensors, and an additional harness since OBXs come standard with the rear sensors? Then a scan?

This will be my first Ford so I'm not familiar with the electrical architecture and ease of modification.

Much appreciated.

I ended up using an aftermarket system. My wife had issues parking. I think I ended up paying about $ 270 for everything. I had to drill the sensor holes in the modular bumper. I routed all the cables following the existing wire harness. I wired the trigger to one of the aux switches. This gave me the ability to turn off the system since it can be annoying in traffic. I could not find an easy way to tap the brake light wire as the trigger. I did not want to run a cable to the back. I chose the smallest display.

Appreciate the suggestion, although I don't think my wife is going to accept anything less than OEM for her new car.

When you say you routed following the factory harness, which harness are you referring to?

Following up hoping for some clarity as I currently have two Broncos sitting on dealer lots - one with Lux package and one without - and need to make a decision.

The most important feature in Lux for my wife is the front parking sensors. From the research I've done:
  • There are two bumper parts (one on each side) that would need to be swapped
  • Also would need the four sensors and brackets
  • And then a new wiring harness to connect to the sensors
All in about $500.

The question is: Does anyone know if the harness that the sensor harness plugs into is the same Lux vs. non-Lux? If so, it should be a pretty easy swap + scan.

I’d love to add these to my bumper. What part numbers are required? Can it just be enabled in ForScan after plugging it in?

I was unable to obtain a part number for the harness and I was told there is another module needed and installed on the passenger side rear panel. The there are wires that need to run from the sensors to the module. I was willing to do that but nobody would quote the parts. I tried 3 different dealers. Adding the module requires FDRS.

did you try these guys? They got a shout out on the upfitter switch thread. Maybe they can help?

Sharing one other shout out to Hayley at Mangold Ford's Parts Department.

Their staff made this happen. They are knowledgeable and who we can thank for all the diagrams I've shared. If you need the right harness & dome with the switches, give Hayley and her team an email, call or a visit if you live in Illinois.
