@Richtor The easiest fix for a stripped TP40 bolt head is to use a T45 socket and hammer it into the stripped TP40 bolt head and then use an impact wrench for removal.

Thanks, drilling is the only way?
Bolt extractor is probably the easiest way. Sometimes those will fit without needing to drill out the head.

Maybe not the only method - sometimes you can put a bit of valve grinding compound and get just enough stick to get it to back out. Or sometimes use a sacrificial allen key or something - hammer it in and get it to hold well enough to back out.

But bolt extractor is usually a sure thing.

Did you also try spraying the screw with penetrating oil?

No, I did not hear anyone say that when taking off end caps. I stripped it by hand too. It is damn tight.

PB Blaster is amazing stuff. I'll usually go to that before I break out the cheater bar - since the cheater bar has a 50% mortality rate with bolts. And if I do kill the bolt, PB Blaster is the very next thing I reach for before getting the extractor kit out.

You should be using a TP40, which is a torx plus. They’re close, but they are different and using the wrong once can cause issues like you ran into.
Thanks for yet-another-lesson in tools and Broncos.
