I often turn my headlights to parking lights when roll up in a parking space / driveway, so that I don't blind myself with the headlights reflecting off my white garage door, building, other car, etc.

But then when I get out and lock it, the parking lights are still on, and they never turn off. Is this normal? It seems like if I lock the vehicle, ALL lights should turn off, especially since they are controlled by a "smart" switch.

Yes it’s normal, you have to physically turn them off.

If you manually moved the headlight switch to the parking light position, yes they stay on. That's what they are for , so you can have the lights on if you are on the side of the road or need to stay visible for some reason .

You can just turn them to the off position when you pull in, that will solve your issue.

Is your house chrome? Literally never have experienced or heard of such an issue before?

If it is chrome, how do you keep it clean?

Makes sense when you think of it that way. Thanks for all the input everyone.
