Quoting my post with the quick fix as well as the post from a member who 3D printed a fix. Look at my photo as a reference then check underneath your own seat. If it's the seat rails it's pretty easy to diagnose but l by just banging on the empty seat while it's slid back far enough. From underneath you can see what and why it happens.

That said I don't know if this is a problem with the manual seats the 2 door has, or if it only affects the power seats, so it's possible you have something else gong on.
Okay so I had my girlfriend drive with me and the sound was absolutely gone so it has to be that same issue everyone is having. I’m going to my brother’s house for Christmas, he has a 3D printer and I already sent him the model file so he’s gonna print 3-4 of them with different thinness levels. Will keep the group updated

This is utterly annoying, so glad I found this thread. Tack another one to the mix, went to the dealer today and it was a bust! They did nothing. I don't have a 3D printer so I will go on Amazon and get the tackle box thing.

This particular rattle, yes. If you bang on the seat about where your shoulders are you'll hear it. Same for if you bang on the seat from the side (like shoulder height above the center console)

I was bored, so here's my temporary fix. I tried a piece of foam underneath, but turns out it's primarily the sides of the rails that are making contact.

Trimmed off the protrusions that lock it into the tray because they were too thick, and wedged the damn thing into the back of the seat rail.

About as ghetto a fix I've ever seen but I just tested and it eliminated the sound.

Now, since this thing is just kinda stuck in there and not attached to anything, if you move your seat around a lot it will almost certainly work its way out after a bit.

And remember kids shoving bits of plastic into your seat rails should only be done at your own risk. 😅

Hopefully someone can come up with a more elegant solution eventually.
I wonder if something like this would work?

Yep welcome to the club. I’m going to the dealer on Monday at 9but I have no hopes of them fixing it. The tackle box thing didn’t work for me unfortunately but I might be doing it wrong. I was able to order the 3D printed piece at a website called Xometry but I haven’t gotten it yet. Putting the seat all the way low helps get rid of 95% of the noise so that’s a plus. I tried bunch of foam and rubber strips I bought from Home Depot but nothing worked yet

Wanted to provide an update on the issue.
Dealer had my Bronco since Monday and they just called me and said they hear it but don’t know from where so they’re gonna have to do trial and error starting by taking off the seat and until they figure it out. Since my Bronco has only driven 900 miles, I told them that I’m coming to pick it up because I’d rather not have bunch of mechanics tear through a brand new Bronco. Will continue doing trial and error by myself

Have had the passenger cabin rattle for 18 months or more. Originally took it into dealer suggesting it was something to do with window / door. They couldn't duplicate it. Took it in for my 40k service and mentioned it was still a problem and they identified it as the seat rail problem and requires a rail replacement. This is the second one they have seen at their dealership.

Unfortunately, I'm past the 36k warranty period, so the cost ($1,500) would be on me. I'm working with the dealer to see if there is a way Ford can cover the cost given I've been living with this rattle since around 15k mileage point.

Given the number of posts on this subject - is there an additional route I should take with Ford in order to have them cover the cost?

And for those of you within the 36k warranty period, go check in with your dealer and have them look at those rails.

Any new resolutions to this? My dealer in Dallas did their "fix" and it did nothing. I have a video with sound of the rattle as well.

Add me to the list with the seat rattle, I just figured that's what it was today on my 21, I thought it was the door/window for years...

I ended up having the seat track replaced on my '22 Badlands 4door.

I had the track replaced and Ford/Dealer covered all but $300. The rattle is gone and I'm happy, however I suspect I may have the same issue down the "bumpy road" in a couple of years.

I do wonder two things:

1) Is the newly installed rack identical to the original, or has it been modified to lessen the odds of rattling?

2) I wonder if the driver's side seat rattles if the vehicle were driven without someone sitting in the seat? I'm not going to test it myself, but it would stand to reason that it does, right?

I've been chasing down this rattle for over a year now - I've tried the 3D printed fix, different seat positions, tightening all bolts, and everything in between. Nothing worked for more than a week and I could never truly find where the rattle was coming from.

It sounded like the rattle was coming from the passenger seat, right beside the console. This past weekend I decided to remove the bolt that connects the seat frame to the floor pan. I noticed that there was some sand/dirt caught between the metal bracket and floor pan. My thought is that this was causing a small gap and created the rattling noise whenever there were vibrations in the seat.

I cleaned the sand/dirt with a towel and air compressor and put in some cushioning (DIY dryer sheet), then bolted everything back down. I went for a drive this morning and heard zero rattle, I hope this is the end of this issue for me

Google brought me here after searching about the wonderful passenger seat rattle I was experiencing. I read this entire thread and decided to try the 3d printed part as the seat track having some looseness seemed like the problem I was having. I could push against the side of the passenger seat back and get the noise to stop while driving. Unfortunately, the 3d printed part did not work for me, pushing against the seat while standing outside the passenger door still had the seat making the noise. I could even get it to happen while gently pushing against the side of the seat back so I stuck my hand under the seat to feel for play or something loose.

When I pushed on the seat I could feel the seat moving around this bolt. I got out my torx sockets and tried tightening the bolt. It turns out it's left hand threaded, but tightening it did not fix the rattle. I removed the bolt to see if there was a damaged bushing or something in there since it looks like this is part of the mechanism to raise and lower the seat and needs to pivot on that bolt. There was no bushing but the bolt does have a plastic washer. I decided to try adding something to allow me to tighten the bolt further. I ended up taking a 7/8" rubber grommet and cutting it in half, ensuring the cut side was smooth.

I put the cut in half grommet around the shoulder of the bolt, up against the plastic washer and added a drop of blue loctite to the threads. I then lifted the back of the seat to align the holes and reinstalled the bolt making sure I could feel the end of the bolt come through the threaded hole all the way.

I just completed a nice long drive over a few sets of railroad tracks and I'm happy to say there's no more rattling coming from my passenger seat. Hopefully this will help someone else out with the annoying rattle!

Idk if it's that specific bolt, but there is a recall out for a seat bolt coming out.
