Lot of pages here but has anyone tried lube on the moving areas? Sometimes just a little lube where parts touch does the trick. I have had more than once where hinges or slides simply need a little lube and the rattles/squeaks went away.

i’m assuming it is the vibration causing the parts to touch, just enough movement.

I 3D printed and inserted the rail insert, but this only somewhat fixed the issue. I still have a rattle because the whole back of the seat, especially near the head rest, vibrates and makes noise.
Wondering if replacing the whole damn seat would help.

well that sux… I tried inserting the plastic piece but it is not going in without force, and I’m a bit hesitant. I might sand it down and give a try.

Hi there, Brian. This passenger seat rattle concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Bronco. Should you need any further assistance, please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer and I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end. Dude, I've been chasing this rattle forever! It's been to the dealer twice. I thought it was the door. They tightened everything down, did the window guide adjustment, and just couldn't find it. This weekend I finally dug into it myself and after disassembling the door, going through everything, and driving around with the door panel off I finally figured out it was the seat.

Specifically, its the seat rails. You'll find if you move the seat all the way forward it doesn't do it. There's the rail that's attached to the seat, and the rail that's attached to the floor. The seat rail slides inside the floor rail as you move the seat back and forth. These two rails are banging against each other over bumps.

If you look in there with a flashlight, there's a strip of blue plastic towards the front, that kinda acts as a "guide" for the inner rail, and stops excessive movement. Ford, in their infinite wisdom, decided this guide didn't need to extend the full length of the rail. So when the seat is about halfway or more back, there's no support and the rails start rattling together.

It's fuckin infuriating, and I can't believe you're the ONLY other person I've seen mention it.

Unfortunately I have no idea how it can be fixed.
Sounds just like the problem I have, though mine still clinks, when in the full forward position. I need to try driving with it full forward to see if the rattle persists. Not a solution of course, but concerned the source is not a serviceable part of the seat.

It would be easier for you to grab the headrest and hold the seat still the next time you hear it. If it goes away…bingo
I did that driving mine and that works. No rattle.

Idk if you've been through the whole thread yet, but I posted my fix which was done with a plastic tacklebox divider. It's been that way for over a year now and still rattle free. Another member posted his 3D print solution if you have a machine available to you.

Thank you. I have access to a 3d printer so will have to try this.

I have the exact same issue. I can move the seat forward or back and it helps somewhat, but taking the headrest out cures it almost completely.

I think the headrest is rattling inside the seat. I'm going to try some teflon bushings or something and report back.

I’m very interested to hear if this works. I’m going to try to remove the headrest to see what happens.

I took my Bronco to the dealership to fix this, but they accomplished nothing. Anyone willing to 3D print the seat rail bumper for me? I'll pay for materials and shipping, of course.

Joining the club here. 2024 2 door heritage limited and I’m going through the annoying passenger seat rattle. I tried moving the seats but I think I’m doing it wrong can some please tell me where I need to bring it all the way back and all the way on the lowest point? Are there any other remedies besides this one?
@Ford Motor Company[/USER] this is my second Bronco with issues are you kidding me? It’s a 71k truck I just bought so I shouldn’t be dealing with something silly like this

This particular rattle, yes. If you bang on the seat about where your shoulders are you'll hear it. Same for if you bang on the seat from the side (like shoulder height above the center console)

I was bored, so here's my temporary fix. I tried a piece of foam underneath, but turns out it's primarily the sides of the rails that are making contact.

Ordinary tacklebox tray divider -

Trimmed off the protrusions that lock it into the tray because they were too thick, and wedged the damn thing into the back of the seat rail.

About as ghetto a fix I've ever seen but I just tested and it eliminated the sound.

Now, since this thing is just kinda stuck in there and not attached to anything, if you move your seat around a lot it will almost certainly work its way out after a bit.

And remember kids shoving bits of plastic into your seat rails should only be done at your own risk. 😅

Hopefully someone can come up with a more elegant solution eventually.
Hello guys.

I came up with a solution for this. I made a small 3d printed model to insert to the seat rail.

Model is this:
1713150328312-b2.png

This is inserted into the seat rail.

There are two holes (front and back) on the seat rail like so:
1713150496251-7g.webp

This piece is designed to "clip" into these holes in order to stay in place when the seat is moved. Once in, it is fairly well fixed.

Finally the end product looks like this:
1713150601072-d1.webp

(sorry for the poor photo)

Just move the seat all the way to the front, push it in, front first (the longer tab) and the back "clicks" in. Once in, no more rattle!!!

The tabs align with the holes and keep the piece in place when the seat is moved, so no worries there!

Attached is the 3d file in case anyone is interested :)

Regards,
Sam.

Quoting my post with the quick fix as well as the post from a member who 3D printed a fix. Look at my photo as a reference then check underneath your own seat. If it's the seat rails it's pretty easy to diagnose but l by just banging on the empty seat while it's slid back far enough. From underneath you can see what and why it happens.

That said I don't know if this is a problem with the manual seats the 2 door has, or if it only affects the power seats, so it's possible you have something else gong on.

I tried literally everything else so I'm almost convinced it's the seat. I'll try those remedies and follow back thank you!
