I just had my Bronco in for unrelated service and when I picked it up the “intelligent access” (keyless unlock/lock) no longer works on the driver’s door. I know it was working perfectly just prior to leaving it with them, about 1 week prior. Nothing they were doing should have had anything to do with door handles/electronics.

The buttons on the key fob all work fine, and intelligent access still works on the passenger’s door and the trunk (it’s a 2 door, so that’s all there is). Same deal with both fobs - neither appears to need a battery replacement.

Looking at settings, the only thing that seems a little odd is that it says the software update was not completed and Ford will try again later. I think it was Ford Power Up 4.2.3. Last successful update appears to be in Nov ‘23.

Wondering if it’s likely that the driver’s door handle has gone bad (for no apparent reason)? Or is this likely some weird bug? Thinking maybe I’ll disconnect the battery for a couple minutes and see if that resets anything.

Anyone with similar experiences or solution?

Possibly related (possibly not?): the exterior temp was stuck on -13C for a little while, even though I was parked in a heated garage for hours. After driving for a few minutes, this corrected - now reads accurately.

I am experiencing the same. Randomly mine stops working even if i have the key fob in my hand. What may happen and this is only speculations, if you have your key fob in your pocket with other items, the buttons might be getting pressed accidentally and may lock out the intelligent access. It has happen to me 3 times. I’ve owned mine since 12/2024 so there’s more to discover. Did you get any feedback from anyone?

Mine is intermittent if it's too close to my cell phone. Signal interference

I have my cel in my back pocket and my key fob in my front pocket change. The last time it happen to me was this morning. I had it scheduled to start and tried opening the door but it wouldn’t open unless I used the buttons on my key fob. I also have a 2 door. I wonder if this is unique for them vs. the 4 door.

I just noticed you have a 4 door. Not sure what is going on bit I do hope Ford makes this correction soon. Perhaps a much needed update since windows have been affected on other models.

Try cleaning your handle, dirt affects it's function.

Had similar issue with the front passenger door on my 2019 F-150. Dealer ultimately had to replace the Body Control Module.
