225 lbsWhat’s your bike weigh? I was afraid something of that style would be too heavy overall
I was thinking the same, I wouldn’t feel safe running that.A word of caution, as I use the same setup for my bikes. The rating on that hitch is 350lb tongue weight. It is literally just bolted to a square frame member. Any weight puts rotational forces on that frame member. Also, the distance the weight is leveraged out there increases the amount of force the frame member sees.
If you have an ultra light bike, like a KTM @ 105KG, you may be ok. Anything over that I'd proceed with extreme caution.
It’s a Honda monkey, small. What’s your bike weigh? I was afraid something of that style would be too heavy overall
I have the same receiver how did you connect the OEM Wire harness to the Draw Tite Receiver? Could you provide some pictures? Thank youI searched the crap out of this site when I was trying to solve this problem and see if a Bronco can even comfortably do it. My truck got delivered on Thursday and that night I tested my hitch hauler on the factory tow setup.
Between the factory tow and the big 35" tire it was tight.

It actually fit up there but the gas tank was hitting the tire and the peg had to be folded. I actually scratched up the brand new beauty ring on the spare testing this.
My solution was this:

It's the Draw-Tite 76527 Max-Frame receiver. It basically is an extension without an extension. So only one anti rattle device is necessary to secure it and gives me plenty of space to hold the bike. Also increases the tongue weight to 675lbs vs the OEM hitch, but I still know that the tongue weight should be under 350 lbs because of suspension squat and leverage. I would guess between my lightweight rack and my bike that's probably 260lbs it definitely squats the rear a little but feels great on the road. I drove about 5 hours total to FRO and back with the bike on and it did awesome.
Here is how it looks loaded up:

Bonus points for being able to lay the bike on the tire while getting the straps setup.

The only downside is you need to be aware it's there when you access the cargo area.

Unfortunately it's just zip tied currently. I did pick up a bracket for an f-150 I plan on cutting and welding to the receiver though. But it's low on the project listI have the same receiver how did you connect the OEM Wire harness to the Draw Tite Receiver? Could you provide some pictures? Thank you
@Flourman , do you have to use an extension on the VersaHaul?I’ve used a Versa Haul for a long time. It does a great job.

Nope. The piece where the bike sits is adjustable and I’ve got it pushed pretty much all of the way out.@Flourman , do you have to use an extension on the VersaHaul?
Yup that's my favorite part about my setup too, easy to lean the bike against the tire.I posted this elsewhere as a response, but figured this is a good thread for consolidation of what folks use and will add it here:
I have the MotoTote M3 and it worked great for my recent ride. About 90 miles round trip. I know I'm at or slightly over the calculated weight with the tank of a bike the 300R is plus their optional extension arm. But didn't notice any difference with the handling on a road I've driven many times in the past (crappy pavement, washed out areas - HWY 6 here in Oregon heading out to the coast).
Super happy with results and way easy to load even with the SAS suspension bringing it up a bit than non-SAS.
It's also great I can just push it up there and lean against the tire and still have a couple inches clearance of the handlebar against that back window.
Nothing but good things about the rack itself, super sturdy so far and it doesn't rock back and forth much when taking turns/corners.

Wow, that is rad! What a great idea.Yup that's my favorite part about my setup too, easy to lean the bike against the tire.
It looks like I never posted the mods I did to my carrier in here.
I welded up extensions to my carrier to mount my bike binderz. Now loading and securing is under a minute.

The f150 bracket ius welded on now too and had the whole hitch powdercoated black as well. Can see it in this pic:

Do you ever speed? Are you a lawyer? Are you an insurance agent?By legal standards, fair warning, you all are severely overloading your receivers. The lever effect will likely more than halve that tongue weight, from 350 to 175. Bronco cross member and receivers are weak. The only way this would be remotely legal is if you do a spare tire delete, and put the carrier as close to the bumper as possible. If you have an accident related to this, no way insurance would cover anything.
