VERY close on a raptor and have a few questions for those that own one

Is the width an issue either on the road or especially parking?
Trading from 2024 Wildtrak, what else do I need to know?

I came from a Badlands Sasquatch, and am married to a farmer who always has big 1-ton diesel trucks. I have not had any issues driving or parking with my Raptor, but I do try to always back into parking spots, making it so much easier to park and pull out later. That being said, I live in the country, so I don't deal with parking garages. While I know you can park in them (we've parked the big trucks in them on occasion), it still freaks me out to pull into them, LOL.

I have a 2 door wildtrak. My wife has a Raptor. No real issue with the width difference.

My advice, buy the Bronco Raptor!
No issues on road or off-road & IMO is probably the best factory off-road vehicle ever made.
I try to drive mine from OH out to Ouray (CO), Moab (UT) and the southwest for off-road trails once or twice a year. It has never failed me off-road and is way more capable than I am. Never have had any width issues on any trails I’ve been on.
I can’t say enough great things about it, my favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Though I do not have a Braptor, I have a highly modified Badlands, and I am slightly wider and taller than most stock Badlands. That said, just watch out for garage heights. I

I have kept my stock antenna, because if it hits something, I know I have low clearance to my roof. So keep that in mind. I also back into spaces. Keeping the height clearance in mind, you should be fine.

I agree with others, width is rarely an issue. You also generally have more room to get out than you think since your body is no wider than a standard Bronco, it's simply the fenders that stick way far out. Turning radius is actually quite good too plus it's really not that long a vehicle compared to a lot of other SUVs (and especially full size pickup trucks).

Backing into spots with the 360 camera is definitely something I try to do as much as possible. It's not that problematic to back out of spots but I find it a lot easier to line up and center in spaces going in reverse.

As others have said, there are really only two legitimate concerns. One is low clearance parking garages, especially if you plan on running a roof rack (which puts another 3 inches or so on top and runs your height up towards 7 feet). The second is that you may encounter a tight rock squeeze on a trail that becomes way more problematic than it would be typically. For instance, I know from discussion on these forums that we cannot get these rigs through Elephant Hill in Moab without a severe risk of body damage. I was just out last weekend and had issues in a similar fashion in a spot that I'm pretty confident narrower vehicles could get through no problem.

Both of these are pretty minor concerns though and a bit of planning or knowledge can usually avoid it from being an issue.

I appreciate all the help and forgive my newbie ignorance if it shows. I did get an extended test drive. Here’s my head now. Help me out. It’s an awesome ride. Lots of cool stuff. But I don’t drive off road. I’m not a very aggressive driver. Should I just get the procal tune in my 2.7 wildtrak and move along? Or is there something I’m missing. I really can go either way and do believe that all in all my 2024 wildtrak plus $25k is fair. And it’s a color and setup I’d pick.
by the way, the old me would drink three beers and call the dealer and say let’s do it! But I quit drinking two years ago!

It really depends on how big a financial commitment it is and how much you like the vehicle. There are a lot of neat things about Raptors and the suspension is truly a work of art for both offroad and on road driving. It's presence is also whole next level to a Wildtrak in my opinion.

That being said, if you have better things you can do with that $25k and being located in New Orleans, you may not be able to get some of the best elements out of the vehicle unless you take some trips out west (in my opinion of course).

Only you can truly make the decision in the end.

When you’re in tight spots. Go slow and turn the cameras on. You can center your car better in parking spots than any other car. That full camera is awesome

355 hp and 433 lb/ft versus 418 hp and 440 lb/ft for the Raptor. My guess is the Wildtrak with pro-cal will be potentially faster than a stock Raptor though given 35 inch tires and less weight. Would need to search around to validate that.

Of course a Raptor with Pro-cal will trump it.

Coming from a badlands I do feel extra wide in the hips. Parking is fine and the width at the doors is the same so parking in general is no big deal. I just feel like my flares are going to scrape on everything.

The Raptor feels sluggish compared to my wildtrak. The ride in the raptor definitely feels better on and off road, but not $25,000 better. That $25000 isn't just for the ride feel though.
I've thought about trading my wildtrak for a raptor but the thought comes and gos.
My wife drives her raptor back and forth to the gym, grocery store and around town, but she will also take it out and rage on the dirt roads. She also did this in the base bronco she had before. If she was driving around town only I would have talked her out of it and we would have kept the base.

The bronco is very capable in any trim. Drink 4 beers and make your decision.

I LIKE the extra axle width, less body roll and more stability flying down rough trails or freeway cross winds. I've been in parking garages all over and never had a problem and that's with true 37's on, not the under sized BFGs.
Whipple tuned, I should be in the high 400's hp. I've owned off road vehicles all my life.... scouts, FJ40's, older broncos, wrangler rubicons, my 12 raptor..... when you have something arguably with the off road capability of an FJ40 but with almost 500 hp the fun factor goes WAY up. Yes, the axles are wider and that drives some people nuts but the actual body is about the same so you really don't get any additional pinstripes than a regular bronco other that the actual flares.
