VERY close on a raptor and have a few questions for those that own one

Is the width an issue either on the road or especially parking?
Trading from 2024 Wildtrak, what else do I need to know?

First off.... don't trade in the WT, "COLLECT THEM ALL!" Like cool action figures... you can play with them in the sandbox and they are mostly water proof!

I 100% thought it would be an issue, but it 100% turned out not to be an issue.
One thing that helps is that I set my side mirrors in the correct way:

• Lean to the left and rest your head on the window. Adjust the driver’s side view mirror so only a sliver of your car’s side is visible from this position.
• Lean to the right toward the center console and set the passenger’s side view mirror so you can barely see the side of your car from this position.

In this way, your back haunches are always visible in your side mirrors, giving you a good understanding of where you are in relation to the outside world.

You've already missed the boat if you don't have that First Edition (or 1st gen, etc.), but I like where you're going.

I did. But test drives are test drives. Daily driving is completely different deal. Parking, parking garages, navigating around town....

Always appreciate a good Steve Brule gif... but seriously, if adjusting your side mirrors this way sounds weird to you, I suggest giving it a try. It entirely eliminates blind spots, because as soon as a car leaves your rearview mirror, they appear in your sideviews. I made this switch 15 years ago and have never considered going back.

Suma mirrors help with the width. It’s no problem driving or parking daily. Once you understand the dimensions, it all becomes second nature. Just like any other vehicle you’ve ever owned.

If width is your major concern with buying the most awesome stock offroad vehicle ever made, then look elsewhere.

I've daily driven mine for the last year and a half, including city driving - no issues. You get used to the width pretty quickly. The only thing to look out for is parking garages that have low heights. I believe our trucks are 78" (stock) tall so that could be problematic for low clearance garages.

I second the Suma mirrors.

My only caution is drive thru windows. Your side fender sticks out way further than the normal driver’s perspective on any other vehicle. I just roll down the window and stick my head out to make sure I don’t hit the drive thru window, the curb, etc. I had some very close calls the first few weeks. My other ride is an F250 and your drivers door is literally the side of the vehicle….. no so much on the Braptor.

I went from a relatively small sports car to the Braptor. Other than a few parking garages that are a bit low, no issue with daily driving on busy highways or parking. I back it in everywhere and it's really not an issue, especially with the 360 degree view. Piece of cake and the exceptional turning radius certainly helps.

Don't get me wrong....it's a big rig in some ways but it doesn't really feel it. Just make sure it fits in your garage at home.

A helpful hint: the tire track of the Braptor is as wide as the side view mirrors - use the outboard edge as a guide and you won’t have to play “turtle” to understand your orientation. YMMV

The only place the Braptor is too wide is on tight trails with your regular Bronco buddies!
