Just finished doing the same exact thing on the attic and cargo bay shelves except I used old style rubber faucet washers and a little grease. Squeeks and rattles completely gone. Now I can hear the wind noise again. My wife got tired of the @Mountains2Metal attic shelf squeaking and clunking so I did something beyond lubing the pivots.
Took some measurements, designed these things, and printed them up as a rough draft.

To fit here on both sides.

I say rough draft because they have very little infill, which became apparent when I dropped the attic shelf on one of them. Oops.![]()

When they're in good shape they fit perfectly.

Put one on each side, got everything re-installed, and it's now a snug fit side-to-side and no noise when I hit bumps going around turns.
This flip-down shelf is one of the best mods you can add to the 4-door Bronco. So happy to run it, and even happier to have it run silent.
