I do not...mine will stay black. If you want to color match you would be better off buying the Raptor hinges as they come primed for paint. These hinges in the kit are powder coated black. You would need to get that stripped off and then prepped and painted. Just my .02 cents.... :)
Valid point Thanks for the response

I decided to cancel my order this AM and going with the Turn Offroad brace & hinges instead. I just want something much stronger and more bulletproof.

We will see how it works out. Ironically, after FP auto canceled my first order, they are now giving me grief over cancelling this second order I placed on 2/7 as more than 60 minutes has expired since I placed the order. The second order gave a 2/12 delivery date to the dealer. They failed to meet their own date by 6 days. They have escalated to their operations team to see if there is anything more they can do. Gag!

I don’t really care about the dates, I just want to go a different direction.
Kudos to FP, they came through for me. Got an email confirmation today around 3:30pm indicating my 2/7 order was cancelled per my request.

My TOR brace is supposed to be here this Saturday AM. Fantastic customer service.

2/18 @ 10:07am = received custom invoice
2/18 @ 11:09am = confirmation of payment
2/18 @ 12:44pm = ship notice w/ tracking #

I got mine yesterday. Was surprised in two ways:
  • Hinges are super heavy duty.
  • Plate is not at all heavy duty. I thought I was actually missing the aluminum or steel plate, and just had the plastic exoskeleton, but based on other comments in this thread, I guess this is what we get.
Ultimately it's the hinges I wanted, and the reason I've never bought any of the stand-alone plate reinforcements that didn't include hinges. I'll consider this a decent deal for new hinges, and the plate is a bonus (is this the same plate on the Braptor??). I've got a bunch of torx bits (also have a sprinter van - torx all over the place). I'll be annoyed if I need to buy a random TP40 just for this...

In what way are the hinges stronger, is it just thickness, are the hinge pins also thicker or of a better design? Seems like they attach to the body and door the same way as stock, without any additional reinforcement?

The stock hinges on my Bronco seem fine, so I'm wondering the necessity of the alternate hinges, especially if the plate is not all that robust.

Received mine today. Hinges are definitely an upgrade. Exoskeleton seems fine for what it’s doing. Had to chase the threads in 2 of the holes on the hinges where the exoskeleton attaches due to paint but otherwise no installation issues.

This is a picture comparing the 2 different hinges. It was in that thread I posted a page or so back.

Got mine yesterday. Opened it up for inspection and found these cracks in the plate. Sent it right back for a refund. Complete junk.

oh damn...guess I should open mine and inspect it.
I am sure you have figured it out from the other posts.. but also check the threads in the 2 holes in each hinge. Most likely will need attention.

Mine is cracked in the same exact way, that combined with the blemishes I am sending it back. Ford Performance customer service said no exchanges, so return it is. Check yours, apparently lots of QA issues going on..

I'm still interested in seeing a photo of the backside of the mount before installation. Can someone snap & post a photo?

Got mine. Everything seems intact with no cracks or blemishes and was well packed. Also surprised how thin the plate is but the hinges are huge
