As long as they are the raptor hinges, they should work. Is there any indication that these are not the same hinges as the Raptor uses?
The first few pics I saw showed standard Bronco hinges. Towards the end there are Raptor hinges in the pics. That will definitely stiffen up the tail gate and I can feel better about some heavier tires bouncing on the trails.

I ordered this kit as well since it was cheaper than the hinges by themselves, but I still plan to use the hammer-built raptor plate.
I just looked that up. That would be a much better set up than the plastic exoskeleton if it works with the new hinge set up.

Hinges in this kit are the same as Braptor hinges. Approx $220/each. The value of this kit is the hinges IMO, especially if you couple with a HB brace.

Also HB has 2 different tailgate braces. One for regular hinges and one for the upgraded Braptor hinges. Thread below is the journey of how the Braptor HB version was born.

Thanks for posting this. I like the FP tailgate reinforcement kit that I bought, but this plate will make it better. I plan on much heavier tires and I usually carry a Trasheroo full of fire wood on the way out.

I am using it as a step up, once the hinges are in, the exo mounts to the hinge. If I upgrade to HB, Installing should be simple, since I shouldn’t have to touch the hinge mounting again, just swap out the exoskeleton. All I really want (right now 🤣) is to hang the ignik propane tank on the back with the 35”, and not over stress the tailgate. This kit is priced great for that need. (And future upgrade thanks to HB). Now I gotta figure out if/how to mount it to the accessory holes, and if I can still open the tailgate.…

Agreed about making it stronger. Also more modular as HB sells additional brackets if you want to add more stuff.

The thin gauge metal/aluminum and plastic of the exoskeleton doesn’t sit well with me and the primary reason I am cancelling my FP order.

I considered doing the HB brace like you but had some credit with TOR on a future product purchase so that actually works out better for my wallet. Plus I think that unit is just stronger. I mean they did lift their Bronco with a forklift using their brace, lol.

Ford Performance is sending me replacement parts because of the issues I am having with the threads in the hinges. The bolts for the exoskeleton are Torx Plus 40 for anyone new reading this. They are also going to add that to the instruction set. I have let them know about others in this thread having issues with the hinges. They have been very easy to work with.

Anybody got a pic of the backside of the mount before installing?

Everyone keeps saying the bolts are "Torx Plus"... But none of my torx plus bits fit the bolts.
The regular torx fit though. Is there an 'official' torx plus 40 bit somewhere? The Dewalt, Husky, and amazon specials I have don't fit.

Ford Performance was very specific when they asked what bit I was using when I first contacted them. I then asked them to clarify what it SHOULD be and was told it was TP40. I suggested if this is what is required it needs to be called out in the instruction sheets. Heck most people don't even know there is a difference or that TP exists.

This is the set I bought when I first got my Bronco.

*Edit* Updated the link to the NON security set.

That's the same set I have from amazon. Don't fit on mine.

I just ordered the 40IP from this:
https://a.co/d/aSrsK0K

We'll see. Someone mentioned in the reviews it specifically worked for their bronco... But so was the previous set :)

Interesting... The TP40 in my set fits the bolts fine. A regular T40 also seems to fit as well. I understand TP is supposed to have a better drive angle and not as susceptible to stripping... but it makes it very confusing to the end customer as in this case.

Great ... yet another random TP bit to order that I'll use for one Bronco project and then it'll sit in my box forever.

Do any of you plan on having the hinges color matched? I understand that there will only be a small portion of the hinge visible.

I do not...mine will stay black. If you want to color match you would be better off buying the Raptor hinges as they come primed for paint. These hinges in the kit are powder coated black. You would need to get that stripped off and then prepped and painted. Just my .02 cents.... :)
