if I have to jumpstart my OBX, what is your recommendation for a jumpstarting device, not cables?

I have this one from Wolfbox and it works great. I haven't needed it on my '21 Bronco yet but it starts my 7.3L F250 diesel when the batteries get low, and I've used it to start my Early Bronco a few times when the battery was dead. It also works well as a compact powerpack for charging devices. I've even used it to power my Starlink Mini.

I bought a NOCO Boost.

They had a special deal on them several years ago awhile back on Ford Accessories. Admittedly I just kinda bought it on a limb to reach the number to hit free shipping. Didn't do much research ahead of time.

BUT I've used it a ton to jump start my Bronco, my lawnmower, my wife's Escape, my neighbors SuperDuty, etc. etc. Been awesome so far.

Same thoughts on the NOCO - been using them on vehicles large and small - model Boost Plus GB40. I’ve had one 9 years that is still going strong.

The alligator clamps aren’t the greatest so I install a two-prong pigtail on all vehicle batteries for having a good connection.

That's not anything I've thought about or am concerned about. Jumping a dead battery is a common thing.

I have 2 identical Halo Bolt Jump Starters. They have started a Range Rover, Mercedes S Class, Chev Silverado, and various other models with smaller engines. It works perfectly and holds a charge forever. It provides piece of mind in not needing a 2nd vehicle if the dead battery happens to be your own. It also will charge cell phones and has a built in flashlight.

any reason not to get a 6000A over a 4000A over a 2500A current model?

also, are any of them American made? i believe in supporting American products first.

Another vote for the NOCO Boost packs.
I got a GB70 for my boat in 2017 and haven't had any issues with it, it always just works.
Added another GB70 for my wife's car in 2019 and I got a GBX75 in 2022 for my car.

Just don't pay full price for one. They go on sale all the time. I got my GBX75 for under $170.
