Forscan unlocks all GOAT modes with any Bronco model trim! How-to DIY instructions

Looking at the "Modes" chart in the forscan spreadsheet it indicates that in Sand, Mud, Rock the front and back locker should automatically engage.

I didn't pay that much attention before I applied the Sport patch but now when I go to those modes, because I specially looking for issues, the back locker engages but not the front. I can manually engage it by pressing the button but it doesn't come on automatically like the back does and I'm trying to figure out if I should restore the as-built and attempt the Sport patch again or if this is a known issue on the 24 BL edition.

Rather than doing repeated changes I wanted to check and see if anyone had experience with this.

I know's it's not a make or break deal since I can turn it on with a button press but just trying to get a clear handle if this might be an indication that something went wrong when enabling Sport.

Sorry not sure how it's supposed to act, but honestly I would personally prefer it to not engage the front locker automatically. I feel like that would lessen the chance of something inadvertently breaking. As in you only really hit the front Locker if you absolutely need it.

I know but that's what I'm attempting to figure out.

The GOAT chart in the forscan spreadsheet has front/rear lockers shown as "locked" mine isn't doing that.
I went ahead and did an as-build restore for the ABS but the behavior is still the same. Rear locker engage front is not. I have to manual engage it even in rock mode.

What I'm attempting to figure out is this the normal behavior or is something screwy with mine.

So can anyone with a 24 BL that hasn't screwed around with GOAT modes tell us do your front locker automatically engage when you go to Rock mode or do you have to engage it manually after in that mode?

I think you'd be wise to only engage front lockers when needed. Improper use of the front locker can lead to broken inner tie rods.

I think I might have answered my own question with the adage of "When is doubt read the manual"

If I'm reading the 600 page monster correctly front locker "is available" not automatically engaged like the rear is when you select Rock mode.

It would still make me feel better if anyone else can confirm this is the behavior on theirs.

I was just afraid that I'd messed something up since I didn't pay attention before enabling Sport mode and the forscan chart made me believe that it was supposed to automatically lock not become available to lock since the chart uses the same "locked" note in both front and rear.

Someone might change the front locker to Available instead of Locked in the spreadsheet as I was having some serious heart palps going on there when restoring as-built didn't change the behavior.

Suppose I got my cardio and didn't even have to leave the seat of the Bronco for it.

Now onto tackling fog / off-road light mods, then when my wallet recovers from new car registration thievery winch install.

No Goat mode is going to automatically engage the front locker, as it can make steering very difficult in certain situations, it should always be engaged by driver input!

Locking hubs and locker are 2 VERY different things. Locking hubs lock the wheel to the axle shaft (or when unlocked allow it to freewheel for better highway mileage). Lockers lock the 2 wheels together for max forward traction (but they make manuvering more difficult). 6g doesn't use locking hubs at all, so think of it as a 4x4 where the hubs are always in the locked position

Very true. I'm usually in 2wd Hi, so I'd like to completely disengage my front axle, besides better mileage it would reduce wear and tear on my front axle. I'd want manual hubs, I've had problems with automatic hubs. They sometimes automatically unlock when you don't want them to.

Yukon makes kits for jeep and dodge trucks...nothing for Bronco yet, but hopefully they are working on something. They call them "spin free kits"

Not sure...that's the "Hey you left your FOB in here with me running!" Dinger...not sure I would even remove that, even it were available.

Yes, with forescan. Do a search here, there are a bunch of settings you can change.
