Wondering if anyone if having the same issue and what did you do to resolve it. I want to take advantage of Black Friday deals in case I should just buy a different dashcam or everything I need to change FORScan settings (to disable auto start/stop).

I searched the forum and found https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...pter-losing-power-with-auto-start-stop.68300/. But mine stays on even when the Bronco is off (during auto start/stop cycle). It only reboots when it turns back on, corrupts the video file, and then goes back to recording without issues. I tried other hardwire kits and the behavior is similar. I am really happy with the dashcam video quality and spent quite some time installing everything, wondering if anyone has the same issue or camera?

VIOFO A129 Plus Duo - https://amzn.to/3Z5Ii1C
Dongar Power Adapter - https://amzn.to/3CMg5W7

And yes, I can simply disable with the button, but both myself and my wife usually forget. First world problems...

I’m wondering if your voltage isn’t dropping so far during restart that it kills the camera because your battery is getting weak.

Interesting point, didn't even think of that since it's from 2023. Did the Bronco had battery issues? I know Mavericks did (what I daily drive), so I don't recall seeing something similar for the Bronco.

I will hook up my OBD2 reader and see if I can get voltage number during the auto start/stop cycle

Yes there have been many battery issues and grounding issues. Check all your battery connections and grounds.

Checked everything and nothing out of the ordinary or out of place/loose, still happening. Back to square one I guess...

@dags1207 perhaps THIS version of Auto Start/Stop will work better for you. Good luck.

Unfortunately it does not work for Badlands. Maybe THIS one?

Or this one (which I've seen around in the forum)
It works (I had it on my Badlands)- don’t believe the hype.
(and, on the off chance it doesn’t, simply return it for a full full fund)

Hardwire it and it will solve your problem. It’s super easy to do, and the wires are really easy to hide. I’ve never installed a dash cam and it only took a hour or so.

a) my battery was bad on day 1; they discovered it as part of troubleshooting another problem, so they replaced it

b) I use the Dongar mirror power tap--it was my first mod on day 2--and some cheap dashcam, and never saw the problem

c) but then several weeks later I installed the wire harness to the auto stop button, and now ASS is never engaged, so it's a moot point

Like I mentioned. I’ve tried multiple hardwire kits. I’m leaning towards the voltage drop might be ā€œtooā€ much for this dashcam. Don’t know if someone else running the same one has the same issue (I opened a case with VIOFO to see if it might be covered or warranty or if they have seen this before)

I know it's frustrating when a seemingly simple install goes awry. Maybe too much draw on restart so that the volts drop below the minimum requirement for your particular camera.
- Have the battery checked to make sure its good. If yes, then....
-Try a different camera.
-Try a different Dongar.
-You could try hardwiring to the fuse box for more consistent power.
-Hard wire and use a battery backup for the camera. I do this for all my installs because my camera has a parking mode recording feature. Your power supply goes to the backup battery, then the output from the battery powers the camera. No interruptions.
-Disable the ASS feature either through Forscan, a disabler like mentioned above, Install Ford Procal Tune which disables ASS. Or just get in the habit of turning off the ASS every time you get in.

Thank you, Ford is having a touch time with batteries I guess.

I’ll have the dealership check the battery just in case on next oil change. Leaning towards camera freaking out then.

I might just also buy the ASS kit since we prefer to have it off anyways

Just turn off ASS. Or drive in sport mode which does it for you. You’re just pre-maturely wearing out your starter and flywheel by using it.

I think it’s going to be battery or ASS disabler.

Having to re run all cabling will be a pain
