Hi all, I have a 2023 non B&O with the 6 speaker setup that came with the fake amp and sub in back. I changed out the dash and footwell speakers with Kickers and the roll bar speakers with SSV works. Obviously no difference without an amp.

Next I purchased the Kicker 200.4 Plug n Play kit. It did not come with the wire to pull power from the battery. Theirs pulls from
The factory wiring and has a 20amp fuse attached. After hooking everything up I was getting no power to the amp. Plugged and u plugged over and over again to be sure. Still nothing. Changed the settings on the amp, pushed the radio button, poured through forums and videos and pretty much changed to every setting recommended and still nothing.

Finally contacted the company who sold me the kicker key and harness, who has been great BTW so far, and sent them some video and photos. After they looked further into it I was told the following:
With how everything is set up, we have the kicker key amp essentially on a listen mode. So when the music is playing, the key amp will hear that music and turn itself on. Unfortunately from what we're finding with your Bronco, the music is "too quiet" essentially that the kicker is not hearing the music to turn itself on. There's not enough wattage coming from the speaker wires to be detected.

So we are building a new harness out for you to be able to use a fuse tapper to the fuse box located under your steering wheel that you will need to run into your bronco to turn the amp on and off”

Was wondering if anyone here has ran their Kicker this way? I have not put a sub in yet, so I’d assume I’d have to draw from
The battery when that time comes. But, I just want to be sure this is safe to do I guess and if anyone has ran theirs this way or foresee any issues? Thanks!

I would just get the harness from Crutchfeild. It worked flawlessly installing my Kicker Key amp.

Amp in DC offset mode? Watch here. They also have lots of Kicker videos.

Maybe only loosely helpful, but PlugnPlay kits initially made their 200.4 harness like yours. They later realized this was a borderline solution and to work for all installs, power needed to come directly from the battery. Thus they stopped selling the non direct to battery harness.

The harness kit he’s talking about was not purchased from me as people have stolen my design and copied my Harness selling on Amazon eBay etc which just so everyone knows kicker will not honor any warranty from amps purchased from eBay or Amazon . My harness kits have not been like that for 2 years As when I first invented this Harness , the bronco was not even out yet and originally was designed for an F150, which has a larger amperage constant wire from the radio than the bronco and Did not need to be connected to the battery .

I know. I was referring to your minor learning curve and willingness to update and improve your products. I ordered mine for the 200.4 from you and it's been flawless. 😉

No, it was not purchased from PlugnPlay. It was a pretty popular audio/off road store though and recommended by many, and I don’t want to say who

I bought my
Speakers from Crutchfield and was unaware they sold the harness, too. My plan is to take it one step at a time. Speakers first, then amp, FORScan, then sub and amp, back to FORscan. Little at a time cause I want to change out my bumper, too.

It was purchased from a popular audio/off road store, not Evay or Amazon. I don’t want to say the name cause it wouldn’t be fair to them and they’ve been working with me on it and are sending out a new one one to me (amp/harness). I’ve heard very good things about plugnplaykits.com too. Just went with this other place cause friends have used them. If it doesn’t work when I get the new one I’ll definitely be purchasing from your place 😊. Just had a question about what I was told in the original post. Thank you!

Ok thank you I appreciate that . I just didn’t want people to be confused as when you say plugnplay 99% of people on here are going to assume it’s me . I’ve worked my butt off for the in the last 6 years creating plugnplay, audio harnesses and people have stolen my harness design . I’ve dedicated the last few years to really supporting the bronco community as I make harnesses for many different vehicles

I have purchased 2 kits from PlugNPlay, harness + amp for sub and later harness and amp for rear speakers. Both work perfectly and PlugNPlay talked me through installation when I needed a question answered. Highly recommend.

@plugnplaykits has been awesome. I initially bought the 200.4 harness without sub wiring. When I decided to add a sub under the seat they hooked me up with just the additional wiring I needed rather than making me buy a new harness.

They are incredibly helpful and easy to work with, my harness works flawlessly, and I can't recommend them highly enough.

What? I've bought plenty of items off Amazon including some audio items, as has probably half the country. I'm going to reach out to Kicker. If they are playing warranty games like that then I'll buy a different product.

If I have the old harness wo battery connection, how to upgrade? Exchange for a new harness or you can provide a DIY upgrade kit? Thanks.
