I have a 23 Big Bend 2 Door. I must say the lights on this thing are great in most conditions. However in any kind of snow or sleet they are just plain awful. They freeze over worse than any vehicle I have ever owned. Both my 18 Lariat and 20 King Ranch F150s had LED lights and I don't ever remember them having these Issues. Even my damn 22 Lariat Maverick didn't. I travel a lot on the highway and early in the morning. I live in central NY so we see a decent amount of snow. Its to the point now if there is any amount or precipitation when its below freezing I just have to wait until its light out. My headlights become useless within a few miles of driving. Are there any hacks or solutions people have come up with for this?

I wonder if Rain-X or some non-stick coating would help. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Interesting problem that would have been prevented with sealed beams or even halogens. Not that LEDs are not good , neglible battery drain during auto stop start, brighter whites (sounds like a detergent ad).

The OP could mount halogen or sealed beam driving lights even though illegal for on road use

A similar problem occurred when cities were converting to traffic signals with LEDs.

Traffic lights originally had an incandescent or later a halogen light bulb that would keep the signal warm enough to be clear of ice and snow. Once the problem was identified the manufacturers started including a heating element in LED signals.

It seems to me someone could put a 12 volt heating strip around their headlight for winter driving.

Is there a switch for heating on , or is it always on?

Nevermind, found it

Heater Function: The heating function automatically activates when the headlight is on and the ambient temperature approaches freezing. An amber LED status light illuminates when the heating function is active, and temperature sensors are integrated into the lights to regulate the heat for peak performance. When the front lens cover is heated to the optimal temperature, the heating function automatically shuts off and will cycle back to active mode when the temperature drops again.

Here is a great video that demonstrates the heater functionality. This video is for a Jeep but the same proven system is in our Bronco lights as well (y)

Anybody found another solution that doesn't involve replacing the whole headlight? Perhaps just an add-on heated lens that can be activated via aux switch?

Hey @ORACLE Lighting person, any plans to extend your warranty passed 2 years? My kid wants a set of your lights, but I'll be honest, I see far too many complaints, and many of them come after the 2 year warranty is up. I got 5 years from Morimoto and am pleased with them, but my son would like a different look. And I'd hate for him to be out all that money if 2 years down the road there's an issue.

Ceramic coating helps a little. Both our Bronco and F250 Tremor iced up. The F250 was actually worse than the Bronco. I ceramic coated the lens and it does help. It doesn't eliminate the issue but it's not as bad.

Thank you for a great question. We do offer a good warranty and our customer support team is always available. I understand you would like to have an extended warranty. So for those, we do offer at time of purchase extended 2 or 3 year protection for your lights.
