This is getting out of hand. First off I don't tailgate people. The debris from on coming vehicles has been the cause of multiple broken windshields. I have owned a 22 Bronco 2dr Badlands and it had 3 windshields crack in a period of 2 years. I was able to trade that Bronco in and order a 24 Everglades. I have had the Everglades since April 24. I was on my way to the dump and an on coming harvest truck had some grain come off the top of it. I heard something hit the windshield but the impact was not very loud. About 5 miles later a crack appeared from the top on the passenger side. Has anyone had better luck with a windshield than is not a factory one? At almost $1k a windshield, that adds up quick.

Side not. I spent 21 years in the military and in that time I only had to replace 1 windshield in my vehicles.

Thanks
Brian

I cracked my 1st windshield about 2 years ago. Had it replaced on a Friday, and the following Monday caught a rock and cracked the new one. Since then I just keep Rain-X Windshield Repair in my Bronco. Catch a rock, fill the crack, move along. 🤷‍♂️

The short answer to your question is no. You can’t own a bronco without getting a broken windshield at sometime during its ownership. Had my first Chip within 1000 miles of owning my bronco.

Now on the other hand, my 2008 Ford Ranger with 180,000 miles still has its original windshield. I’m sure it has something to do with the angle of the windshield.

A year and a half into mine just under 12K miles, and not even a chip. I put a wind deflector on mine the second day I owned it. I had a 14 JKU and by the time I got home from the dealer it had a chip in the windshield.

No breaks at 25K on my '22. I've had a few minor chips that I repaired. The key is not to drive behind SAS Broncos with OEM tires. :)

Zero breaks or chips on my 21. In truth, none of my vehicles have ever suffered this.

Currently have a cracked windshield on my 23 Heritage. Been slow to get replaced. Was quoted $900+ for OEM or $500+ for non OEM. Just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
