My wife is having a hard time stepping up into the cab on my BB 2 Dr., so I am looking for something to replace the factory running boards with a step that is lower. 3-4 inches would be nice, but I don't have any idea what is available. I like the looks of the Barricade NB1. If anyone has that step slider, how much lower is the step as compared to the factory running boards? I appreciate any help in selecting a nicely built step slider with a decent amount of drop.

I have the Barricade NB1 and they are really nice and helpful for my wife to get into our Sasquatch! I would say they are about 3 inches lower than the factory running boards, but they are not designed to be used as sliders.

There are powered steps that drop like 8 inches, but they are very expensive and are designed to be sliders also.

Thank you Don! That is exactly what I was looking for. From the pics I have seen, it does look like around 3 inches. Hopefully, I will get a few more replies, but I am inclined to go with the NB!. Cheers!

RSEs are the only powered option I know of that also function as a slider.

not cheap but work great

RSE's illuminated steps are very useful at night.

What is the approximate height of the running boards you currently have, and what is the height you think would work for your wife? I guess that measurement should be from the bottom of the door... since your tire-size may vary.

I have Clamber C3 running boards, but have no idea of the height you're looking for.

The RSE steps deploy to 12" from the ground rather than the 26" to the door sills on my Bronco, perfect for my 5' wife. and great rock slider. Jim.
