Transmission software reprogram (Bronco Sport)?

I've noticed that the Bronco Sport has one glaring fault in that the 8 speed transmission is known to be a bit bumpy and unrefined in the lower gears. However, the Lincoln Corsair which has the same 2 ltr engine and transmission is often commended for being a very smooth shifter. I wonder if the Bronco Sport could have the transmission reprogrammed to duplicate the Lincoln Corsair programming? And if so, could my mechanic do it or would I have to have it done at a Lincoln dealership?

No, that’s not a possibility. The Lincoln has a slightly different 8 speed.
