I have 50k miles on my stock Goodyear tires, and even though they still have plenty of life left, they are getting louder than I like. Commuting comfort and snow performance are top considerations for new tires. I would like to ideally be within 10 lbs or less of additional weight per tire than the stock Goodyears.

Do you want to stick to 315/70/17?

Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3.

They last forever (I ran them on a diesel F250 that towed cross country and currently have them on an Expedition in size 315/70r17 on Raptor wheels), get great traction on wet/dry/snow/sand, and run silent on the road. I swear by them.

☝ Yeah... that's an important question.

315/70R17 tires are very much an "off-roaders" tire size, so if you are prioritizing on-road comfort you'll have FAR more options if you move down to a smaller tire.

But if you are sticking with 315/70R17, the first tire that came to mind is the Yokohama Geolandar. Falken Wildpeak A/T3W would be another good option if you can still find a set (they're now discontinued). Or if you want to go full winter tire mode... Nokian Hakkapeliitta.

If you're okay with slightly less snow performance, Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3.

Still working on the "comfort" part... but I think I have the deep snow performance aspect nailed:

Let me keep looking... comfort may be a tad bit missed on this choice.

What are the other options? 285?
285/75/17 is a skinnier 34.

285/70/17 is the most popular size for 4x4s. It's a 33, so will be smaller than your stock tires.

Yeah, thats why I am asking. I wouldn't mind a 35x11.5 (as the stock Goodyears are narrow boys) but those are also more off-road focused generally.

Nokian, Toyo, Nitto, and Yokohama currently have my attention. Dueler AT Revos are a little heavy, are they not?

Yokohama Geolanders A/Ts are very smooth on the road. Have the most car like driving feel.

Toyo ATIII suck in the wet. I have them on my Ranger.

285/75.17 is only .3" shorter than a 315/70/17 Yoko and the factory Goodyear, but about an inch narrower, which will improve gas mileage and reduce road noise.

Nevermind the Dueler AT Revo 3 isn't that heavy, looks to be a closeout tire on Tire Rack. That worries me in the event I need to replace one.

TireRack close outs 9/10 is just a batch of date codes, not the tire itself being discontinued.

Those tires are pretty bad fyi.

The 315 has made it to the top of my list! Thanks!
