Are we 10r60 or 10r80 on the transmission?

I have everything I need now. Pan arrived, fluid pump, ford refill tool, case of Mercon ULV, and a new transmission filter. Figured if I'm doing all of this, might as well pull the filter for the first 4,000 miles of initial scraps. Although, I didn't enjoy the $100 for the filter from the parts counter. Ouch. Aiming to do this one tomorrow! The PPE pan notes to reuse the existing pan gasket and bolts. The bolts made me think of the rear diff cover replacement and those bolts. Don't know how much thicker the PPE pan is to the OEM plastic in that regard, but I'm about to find out...

I'm not really doing this to change the fluid over concerns of it being dirty. Again, only 4k on the clock at this point. I'm doing it because all of the other fluids I've changed in the driveline appear to be filled to the bare minimum on my car from the factory. I'd say at best 70% of "full". Plus, I like the idea of "drain & fill" on every-other oil change (so, every 10k miles or so) to keep it all nice and clean. I did that on my old 1995 Lexus LS400 back in the day, and it was buttery smooth all the way to 150k miles when the master tech at the Lexus dealer himself bought it from me, 12 years later..
10R60
The factory bolts will work fine. And the factory gasket is 100% reusable as long as there are no issues with it.

10R60, but the 10R80 pan is the same.

@Nc211 - the heads on the factory studs are (were) too large on the rear of my PPE, the ground into the side of the pan before hitting the flange.

Oh you have the deep pan correct?
I should’ve specified that with the regular PPE pan there aren’t any bolt/stud issues.

Make sure you have a new filter seal too! They don’t come with them and are not reusable. About $3.

This is the one I bought:

https://www.extremeterrain.com/ppe-...-aluminum-transmission-pan-raw-328053200.html

Appears they have a typo in their listing (21-24 Bronco with 10r80) instead of 10r60…
I curious, what’s the second number indicate? Torque/Towing capability?

Thanks redone for the tip on the seal! Back to the parts counter I go!
Pretty sure it’s 7T4Z7Z302A and the best deal on all these parts I found was Rock Auto (only $1.43). Filter was $36.79.

Ok so what’s the secret to getting the fill port cover off? I know 19mm, but having a tough time given very tight area. Want to make sure I can refill it before I drain it! Thanks!!

Nevermind I got it with a few awkward hits of a hammer to the wrench, which was on there at about a 45 degree angle downward towards me. What a @$/:() that thing is!

It's incredibly stupid how tight it is from the factory. Hard pass on the torque value on it. "Good and snug" is good enough.

@CarbonSteel where can I find the Ford "candycane" transmission filler tool? I've found a few similar but want to make sure the curve isn't too high to get in the fill.
