Any idea why my 2023 Bronco and my wife's 2024 Bronco randomly locks the drivers door? It doesn't matter if the key is in my hand outside the vehicle or if the key is inside the vehicle with me outside.

That's interesting.

I would say - if i have the key fob in my pocket I often inadvertently hit buttons on it by leaning over counters and desks. Happens all the time, including the damn panic button.

But, you say the Bronco will lock itself with the keys in the car, which is odd. I only know of two ways to lock the Bronco with the keys in the car - either with the Ford Pass app, or the external keypad. Pushing the "lock" button on the door won't let you lock the keys in.

So.. I would look at those two things - may have a keypad that's going bad, or someone playing pranks on you with the app? Or Ford's Fine Programming may just be doing squirrely things - that's a possibility.

I would also do the general reset for weirdness:
General Reset for Wierdness
Unplug the negative battery terminal for about 5 minutes
Reconnect the negative terminal
This reboots all the modules and computers in the Bronco
Use a trickle charger rated for AGM batteries:
Connect (+) to the (+) battery terminal
Connect (-) to either chassis ground or the side tab on the (-) battery terminal
DO NOT connect directly to the (-) battery post
The BMS system must see the charger and going directly to the (-) battery post will bypass it.
Let the battery trickle charge over night. Low battery voltage, or just the BMS thinking there is low battery voltage, can cause a lot of odd things to occur and this corrects for that possibility.

Funny thing on both...it's only the drivers door. I have to walk around and press the unlock door button on the passenger door, unless I have the key on me.
No keypad on either vehicle.

Yeah try the reset thing, and if that doesn't help - it may be a faulty DDM module or wiring harness

Mine has locked all doors (key in console) several times in a year and a half. I can usually use the keypad to get in. On a few occasions they keypad wouldn’t unlock the doors either (every once in a while this happens even when I lock it on purpose) but I’ve always been able to use the FordPass app to unlock. I just chock it up to Fords weirdness 🤷🏻‍♂️

If I disconnect the battery, will I lose the xm radio favorites?

Shouldn't - no.

You may lose dashboard brightness setting, some audio settings (bass/treble/fade), and default volumes for things in Carplay/AA

Mine does the same thing and has since it was new. So I don’t think it’s the key pad I think it’s ford programming. Sure wish it could be fixed.

Hello I have a 23 black Diamond which does the same thing, it only locks the drivers door only. Had it at the dealer multiple times and they can never duplicate it. They said they ah e reprogrammed the modules and it still does it intermittently

This problem drives me nuts. Bronco randomly locks the drivers door. It locks my driver's door probably every other day. Anyone figure out a solution? What the hell was wrong with a regular key? I hate key fobs and all of these buggy electronics.

Has any resolution been found for this? My 2023 Wildtrak does the same thing. It's not only incredibly annoying when I'm getting gas, loading groceries/storage items/donation items/etc, or even just packing the car for the day; but, it's so unsafe. Someone can access my car from the passenger door (where my purse is) while I'm getting gas, but I wouldn't be able to jump in because my door is always automatically locked. Ive started leaving my driver door open, but thats not the best solution either (especially at night in Texas where the mosquitoes are huge and abundant). Surely Ford has corrected this problem by now.

When pumping gas I leave my drivers door cracked open but hit the lock button so no one can open the passenger door. Mine still does it randomly.

I figured mine out. All other doors stayed unlocked.
When driving my doors autolock. When I exit they Auto Unlock… but…..
While it’s unlocking I am exiting and fat thumbs push it locked again. Now I keep my hand away from the lock and or check it if I bump it. Just poor design location.
case solved
