Baja Designs Pocket Fog Light question

Has anyone had the mounting bracket for the Baja Designs Pocket Fog Light mounting bracket peel? Lights have been installed for a year. I know this is cosmetic so I’m just looking to see anyone has experienced this and advice on what to do.

My brack from 4x4 LED did this in the same spots. I just sprayed it with black spray paint.

yeah it can happen with any bracket. It's power coated so it can flake since it's constantly getting hit by road debris. The Baja bracekts do this. Diode Dynamics brackets do this. Our KR Off-Road brackets can do this. ALL brackets can do this.

I personally never had an issue on my own truck but everybodys mileage may vary

Yes, mine are doing the same thing... I'm considering getting some model paint to touch it up - I'd rather not have to take the whole things off to spray paint them.

I forgot I had some POR-15 so I brushed that on. Doesn’t match the finish but looks better than bare steel. Thinking about getting some Steel It to go over it.

For now, I just took a black sharpie and colored over the bare steel... Lol. Better than nothing!

Looks more like a powder coating quality issue than something caused by road debris; especially since there isn't damage on the bumper surrounding the edge of the bracket. I saw similar things happen to sourced parts we used at the manufacturing company I worked for when a supplier didn‘t properly prep the parts prior to powder coating. For example, if their wash was contaminated it’d happen or if they hung the part to dry and there was wash residue on the edge it’d happen just like the picture.

Testors flat black enamel paint marker works wonders on powder coated surfaces, especially small peels and blemishes like that. Barely noticeable. You could also disassemble and have it coated in Cerakote. Or DIY with a can of Steel-It. That thing is wonderful too.

I just noticed the same issue on my Baja design Bracket as well.
