I upgraded from the Ford tailgate molle to the @BA OffRoad tailgate molle table. Night and day difference in quality and usefulness.

Out with the old:

And in with the new. I reused the bags because, honestly, they're good bags and are probably worth the purchase price of the Ford kit when it's on discount.

I'm pretty darn happy with this setup. Next beach trip is going to be a lot more convenient

My JCR table fell apart, and even before that, the latches weren't good enough.

You coated the inside of your tailgate with bedliner?! I’ve been wanting to do this! Mine is trashed! Did you DIY? What did you use?
Yeah, when I bought my truck used the inside of the tailgate was all scratched up. I used Herculiner as it was readily available and I think the results came out pretty good.

I did a lousy job taping along that top edge but that's entirely on me. I unscrewed the alignment bushings (or whatever they are) and latching mechanism from the tailgate and was cautious not to put too much material where the screws go.

Wiped everything down with xylene, rolled on 2 coats using the textured roller they recommend, let it dry overnight, and put everything back together the next day. I'm happy with the results and I no longer worry about the scratched paint and bare metal introducing rust.

Definitely a worthwhile and satisfying little job :)

That sucks. I'm running their under-hood air compressor mount and it's well designed. I just checked JCR's website and it looks like their table uses a smaller version of the old rubber VW hood latches.

The latches on BA's table are all metal and give a satisfying click when they're engaged. When latched they're under tension to avoid rattling -- time will tell how they hold up but at this point I'm happy with what I'm seeing.
