With all the issues ford has with the Bronco already, you’re wanting them to attempt to add more tech and more issues for a couple mpg? The ford tech gremlins make Chrysler look good.
and be sure to preorder an adv hard top to go with it, you then might only wait another 3 yrs after you get the bronco to have a chance at getting the hard top
Hybrid available by September…
Everyone knows the 2.7 and any rumors of a hybrid are going away in favor of the new 8.3L v8 that they're stuffing in there. It's also going to be a three on the tree, too.
No insight on the Hybrid, but I’d doubt Ford would eliminate the 2.7 from the Bronco as about half the Bronco’s sold are equipped with the V6. I would not be surprised however to see it limited to fewer trim levels and perhaps to become even more expensive. After owning my ‘23 V6 for 15 months and 14k miles, it’s worth the upcharge for the smooth and effortless torque and essentially zero penalty in mileage. I’m averaging 19.3 mpg with about 60% of that being interstate travel. My friend with a ‘22 2dr 2.3/7-speed is averaging about the same.
I am sincerely interested, as my wife has a 4xe wrangler and for a daily driver only filling up once a month or so sounds pretty dang good to me. The Wrangler PHEV is one of the lowest plug-in hybrids available, battery-wise. She gets 25 miles per charge and around a 250 mi tank. Takes only a couple hours to top off meaning she only uses gas when she's doing a little more driving that particular day...but if she has time while at home, plug, rinse and repeat
Not that I expect to get the hybrid (which is very unlikely to be offered with a stick), but the relatively better gas mileage should increase range. This is a big deal out west where some of us go into pretty remote areas where it's a long way to the next gas station. Also, if you do run out of gas (not recommended of course) you still have a bit more range with the batteries.
Cool, maybe they can add more cup holders in the console now that the shifter is gone.
They will probably have the 24MY order banks open after the reveal of 25MY order banks so you can place that late model year order if you don't like the 25MY options. That is what they are doing to the Maverick.
Ford has already limited and pay walled options on the Bronco and Maverick. I assume they are doing it to other cars too. It's a real joke to order from Ford now.
I’m out in SoCal, lots of desert and trails that go for many miles so I do agree the existing bronco range sucks, that being said with more tech, more weight, more weight, more difficult to off-road
