I’ve seen some of the solutions for storing poles inside the bronco. Most are pretty exspensive. I bought this off Amazon and figured i’d give it a shot.

i attached 3M industrial strength velcro to the back. The back is kind of hollow, not even so i reinforced the self stick with some E6000.

i can already tell from the dry fit i may have to build up the sides of the rod holder with another level (or 2) of E6000 and Velcro to kae up for the unevenness of the hard top,, but we’ll see. Plan to do some fishing this weekend and will report back how it held up.

Update:
50 miles round trip.
I ended up taking the rack over the rear passenger seat off. It was a PITA to try to weave the poles through & since they go over the roll bar there was no need for another support.

The rack held up well. Held everything secure. The poles did rattle and click a little on the roll bar down dirt/bumpy roads. It was kind of annoying but not $300 for a fancy rack annoying lol
I had one pole that has 1.25” eyelets that didn’t fit over the rollbar, but it was fine.

Over i’m happy with the set up. Worked great!

Thanks. I’ll report back this weekend how it does. I plan to load it up with 3 full sized rods and 2 kids poles.
i have a feeling i’ll need to build up the edges with another layer of velcro but we’ll see

Awesome idea, that soundproofing is prime for these kinds of mods.

I'd double secure that Kroc if you're gonna hit any bumps on the way to the water!

I like this a lot! I ran rods along the roof of my 2-door because that's the only way they fit on the inside. I didn't think of running them over top of the roll bar. I may have to copy you if there's room with two doors.

it gives it a little more support when bouncing around. If you have large eye lets on your rods it may not work. Mine are just small enough to fit perfectly

Yea i’ve seen a few of those. They look nice. Much better fit and finish but $200-$300. I’ll pass

No matter how much you spend you still can't fit anything over 7' in a 2-door 😂

I like it. I do a lot of fishing and this seems to be a great idea to get them up and out of the way and safe. Let us know how it works out and if the Velcro holds.

My wife may get an external hand-me-down River Quiver from my F150 for the 10ft nymph rods on her 2dr Badlands, and I'll upgrade to a Yakima.

Still no solution for the 11ft Beula beach rods. The magnetic hood/roof rod holder doesn't work on aluminum F150 body panels.

Sorry to derail the thread. Looks like a great inexpensive solution for U/L spinning rods.
