I mean, we have video of the entire install… but it was too long to put on YouTube.

Are you fairly confident in your welding abilities?
My nephew is a great welder he said he can do it but just looking for some helpful insight.

that’s the most intricate part… the rest is fairly straight forward. Disconnecting and dropping the tank is a pain… if you want video on a specific sequence, I could probably upload it

Do you have to drop the tank on the 4 door, i was just thinking it was only on the 2 door ( I don't know Why i was thinking that). If you have the video that would be awesome.

yeah, you have to drop the fuel tank to get to the passenger upper link to change out. I don’t have a super detailed video on that part… just be sure to get replacement clips for the connectors. You can get an assortment pack for like $10 from most auto parts stores. We went by the video from BlancoBronco for dropping the tank.

exactly why I outsourced it too… I CAN weld… I want it to look better than what I could do
Shit man, I could’ve done a prettier job on the trusses. Really can’t believe the guy let it leave his shop looking the way it did. But the main thing was how he sets it up in the lathe to ensure the axle is straight and aligned before welding it up. He also did the diff housing to the tubes and knew the correct rod right off the top of his head so I figured all good to go. Yeah, they penetrated and they’ll be strong but gotdamn. They look rough.

The shop that I am going to use ordered mine for a little less than I could find on my own. As a bonus, their install price was not as steep as I was anticipating or was willing to pay. (y) They ordered it a couple of weeks ago - waiting for it to come in and get an open slot in the shop... I'm looking forward to it!

Did it play nice with exhaust or did you need to make any modifications?

Thanks for sharing! I am fixing my bad tube weld on the rear end (slow leak from porous welds after two years), so while it's at the shop, I'm considering the RK Kit. Already running Icon Stage 8 billet setup with up-travel limiters and Nitto 37s, tons of flex and already stuffing my rear tire, and rarely lift a rear tire in most situations.

Wondering if the RK Kit would actually help with keeping the body more level on obstacles/sidehills/ off camber and or reduce rear-end shift in the high-speed desert. My other concern is factory mounting points, wondering if different angles from the kit could make them more prone to breaking. Anyone notice a real substantial gain to justify the time and expense? Even better if you are running with Stage 8s... Thanks!

I can only speculate on to how your frame mounts will hold up, as we beefed ours up significantly to prepare for portals and 40’s. With that said-

RK has the highest misalignment ability out of all the ends out there, so that should help out. I know a bunch of people running that kit and nobody has broken those mounts with it. You’ll definitely see more flex with longer coilovers, and no rearsteer with the panhard removed. If you’re already stuffing your tires into the fenders and still have more uptravel available on the shocks you’ll want some bump stops.

Recognize that one drawback of a triangulated/parallel setup is going to have some lateral movement on the axle when you’re on the trail. (Forklift tests aren’t the same) Depending on your other aftermarket goodies you might need to upgrade your driveshaft to something with a smaller OD. Adams is a popular choice with their double cardan unit. If want to run a rockjock rear swaybar, don’t order the bronco specific kit. You’ll want to build a custom setup. I can help if you need.

Exactly the info I was seeking. Thanks for that and for your offer to help. I am watching your build of course and that alone has been helpful. Right now I am thinking of just pulling my diff and having a shop that knows what they are doing grind the bad tube welds off and reweld. I'm still on the fence about the RK Kit. We will see.
