I have had my Bronco for eight months and as I'm dealing with another engine failure, some serious management issues come into question. Do Ford dealers have a central database where vehicle repairs are documented so that another dealer can access these records? Also, why do service centers act as if they shouldn't speak to another dealer's service center for additional information so that efforts are not duplicated. I understand dealers are their own entities, but they're still an extension of Ford, so why doesn't Ford expect their dealers to standardize documents/order repair details and streamline practices? It would save Ford Motors money and reputation in the long run. I've lurked on these forums and also see another common issue. Whenever someone needs repairs, not only are customers dealing with the service department's ridiculous backlog, usually an item needed for repair is on backorder. Perhaps Ford needs to stop getting parts made in China because I'm tired of hearing about supply chain disruptions and I know WE aren't the ones saving $$ with this outsourcing.

Every dealer always plays the "individually owned and operated" or "we are a franchise of Ford". So yeah, good luck...

They would have a central database, otherwise a national warranty program would be impossible to manage. They are all individually owned and operated, so I imagine some of them (not all) focus on their own little bubble and may not talk to other dealerships all that much - Technically they would be competing against one another, albeit to the customer they're all "Ford."

You are right - They are all extensions of Ford, and should do what they can to protect the brand and help the customer, where appropriate.

They do share a database that’s tied to the VIN, yea.

I’ve had a similar experience during warranty claims/repairs. Went to one location, they did what they thought would work and when it failed later that day, they told me I’d be out of luck for six weeks. This forced me to go to another dealer and they did the exact same work “incase the other tech didn’t do it right”. It’s frustrating, but even more so when you see that they don’t trust their own trained/standardized employees.

I think the engines are produced in Ohio?

If you're saying you've had two complete engine failures on a 2023 model, I'd be looking at lemon laws.
For sake of discussion, I’d love for OP to elaborate on the first two failure modes.

Once is a coincidence, twice is a pattern.

Curious what sort of usage your Bronco has seen? Severe or just regular pavement type duty? Odd having two engine failures. What failed?

My state requires 3 attempts with a final notice certified mailed. It also states something like 30 days out of service except for instances outside of the company's control. I've had my truck for 16 days since January 24th, but first part was on backorder. Second engine failure was 3 weeks later and now is 6 hours away at another dealership waiting on...another backordered item. Truck has 7K miles, so yeah its frustrating to say the least.

First was a catalytic converter failure which caused the engine not to run, not an engine failure. Engine was not replaced, Cat was. This time…who knows.

Just got a call yesterday that the issue is a cam phase and a pin connector. I'm not a mechanic, but I waited a year and a half for my order and was waiting forever for the "in production" email. My truck was in production for three months and I had to call to see why it wasn't moving. They located my truck, pushed it through and it was delivered to the dealer with 66 miles. Makes you question if Ford knew something wasn't right before the pushed it out.

Oh yes, I remember that one. Either a bad blend of additives or a mix in the in-ground tank.

I feel for ya @Beckycorrine, this is a tough go. Have you gotten any feedback from the dealer on their fuel contamination claims?
I've been cleared of any wrong doing. This was not a contaminated gas issues. Since I'm not a mechanic, I don't know how cam phaser or connector pin could possibly lead to oil in the fuel tank. I'm at a loss with what they claim, but apparently it makes sense to them now and its under warranty.

Pavement princess/catalytic converter 1st, cam phaser 2nd.
