Getting nervous about 2.7 Engine failures issues

I stayed away from the 2.3 because it was missing two cylinders .

And no dual injection.

My Ranger has the 2.3l though, it is a great engine, except mine is modified (DP, intercooler, DV, custom tune, intake, etc) and it loves detonating the boost sensor or at least popping the hose off.

Biggest complaint seems to be the cam phaser failure. I also understand Ford has a new part and a ton of the part that fails yet still allows them to be used for repair. Since they might last past warranty. Do some leg work and insist on the new part if getting a repair. It must be true as I saw it on the internet. Person did show the difference in part and numbers to his credit.

My 2020 Ranger had the 2.3 which is why I got the 2.7 in the Bronco. The 2.3 was adequate but I hate adding stuff just to get it where it should be.

They are small displacement engines , if you want real power buy something with a V8. I found that the 2.3 in a 2dr moves the Bronco with ease. I have yet to feel under powered

If you are out of warranty, then by all means start sweating. But why would you worry if you have a full factory warranty??
