Yes those 4in Hertz speakers were a much improved upgrade over the stock B&O dash speakers. I paired them with the 300hz bass blockers. Brighter and cleaner sound over the B&O speakers. The only negative was I measured a 1DB drop over the stock speakers.
Yup i tried that 300hz....then changed to 600HZ. Better sound for me :) Maybe try that? $12 to try!

I'm an audio noob as well!

Here's what I installed :

Yeah... you won't be able to compare this to your Tesla. I had a model 3 performance before the Bronco, and the system that comes with the dual-motor/performance model 3/Y's like our are very very good.

The sound definitely improved after I installed everything. I know there were a few forscan changes that needed to be made... did you do those?
Yes, I did the changes on Forscan and the sub is working correctly although rattling some, we had to tune it down until I remove it again and add some sound deadening behind it.

Did you install bass blocker on the dash/rear pods speakers or are you running them the way they are? I should be receiving the speakers today but want to know if I should buy and add the blockers before tearing out the grills.

I would add the blockers - some have the 300HZ version, I used the 600HZ version.

Did you start with the base setup or the Bang & Olufsen?
I also have a sub in my base setup, do you still recommend the 600hz blockers?
Thanks for the help.

Got it. I'm not planning on adding an amp as it is loud enough for us.

An amp for the base system is NOT about power - its about quality of sound. It makes a HUGE difference. HUGE.

If you use the factory amp, you don't need bass blockers for the rear pods. It has a software filter already.

On youtube videos it shows that I would need to trim some of the speaker tabs to mount them on the rear pods. Any pointers on how to do this with minimal damage? I saw a guy using a rotary tool but I assume a lot of iron dust would inevitably stick to the speaker magnet.

You can use tin snips (sissors for metal) But I used heavy duty wire cutters. It was also the Hertz Speakers. I used 300Hz blockers and no amp and I am happy. Would like a sub upgrade to our 7 speaker system. I love the Hertz though. Not going down the 200.4 rabbit hole. Many folks say it is not worth it.

I'm BIG on sound. I would rather medium volume and crystal clear vocals and tight bass, than loud and not as clear. For the REAR speakers, no bass blockers needed. mine work great with out them too. But the 200.4 is not a "Rabbit Hole" at all. Its reasonably priced amp (which has DSP - Digital Signal Processing) and the harness makes install so easy a rabbit could do it. I would 100% say the 200.4 upgrade is worth way more than what it costs. The sound quality is not even comparable to the stock sound system. I've had 4 different people sit in my Bronco to listen to the difference and the first 5-10 seconds of hearing any song and they are shocked at how good it is. I highly recommend it.
