I found that interesting as well. It was clear what @Kjbeggs was asking, and clearly ADV tapdance around it. It is also peculiar that their long absence from the forums and the poof they are here and just as quickly poof they are gone.

I truly do hope that their tops exceed the standards, because this has been a very long and honestly painful journey for those still in the game.

When ADV starts getting cryptic, I start getting worried.
I asked for an expected date for the install video (Not an answer of "Before deliveries are made"), and they just ignored that part of my questions.
This leads me to believe they still don't have possession of the components, so they cannot produce said video, OR this assembly/install is going to be significantly more difficult than expected, and they are afraid it will discourage order holders from keeping their orders.

I don't like feeling discouraged or getting all "conspiracy theory" about it, but that's what this whole process has triggered...
It’s also telling they won’t specify where each part is sourced, or at least the panels themselves…

With TOR offering a LIFETIME WARRANTY on their top
(Not to mention having deliveries/pickups starting this week),
what are the actual reasons to stick with the ADV top?

I'm not 100% sure the closed cell foam is going to be a better option as opposed to the honeycomb/resin method TOR is using (which has been used for years on Jeep tops), when done correctly.

Curved back glass?
Wiper/washer ready at launch?
The mysterious headliner? (who can say, since we don't know anything about the ADV option)
Two-piece vs 1-piece removable front section?

I'm not seeing any of these as being worth the $2K price difference (or the uncertainty/wait).

What are YOUR reasons for sticking with your ADV order?

Points are well taken.
I'm still gonna stick it out for a little longer.
I like having the washer defroster installed rather than a add on.
I like having 1 solid top over my head. Granted the 1 removable piece looks pretty solid..
My 88 Eddie Bauer bronco s fiberglass top never leaked. The noise throughout the vehicle was worse than the 2021 soft top.
I gotta believe adv is gonna eventually come through. They might increase their warranty coverage to match the competition.
HOWEVER, I am anxiously watching the tor site and waiting for actual customer reviews.
I assume tor will send out a install video .
Hopefully adv will also. Hopefully they will also put out some info , I still can't believe not 1 top isn't ready to be shipped.
Bronconamedfiona should be one of the first. 20 minutes before me ordering

NOTHING LIKE SITTING ON A FENCE.lol
Time will tell what I do.

I'd think TOR's top would barely require an install video (though I'm sure one is coming soon), seeing as there is basically no assembly.
Which is basically another selling point in my book (fewer leak/wind noise possibilities).
I'm anxiously awaiting the first TOR customer pickup

For me, it's the concern that I'll have waited as long as I have (not as long as others, since I'm in batch 2), bail, and then tracking numbers will be sent out the next day. If I cancel, I pretty much know that will happen.

But I am pretty confident I will if nothing happens in January. At that point, there will have been way too many missed milestones without any end in sight to hold on. And I'll feel really sorry for all of it.

I've had that worry/feeling too, but putting $2K back in my pocket helps

Yeah, if the Batch 1 group gets delayed (or certainly my Batch 2), that probably will be it, even without a firm date for TOR's "white top group" beyond an estimate of roughly March/April. A firmer date from TOR on the white tops might seal the deal regardless, but if they knew it I'm confident they would socialize it.

Wasn't Batch 1 supposed to be "Mid-January" and now it's "Mid-January to February?" Seems like what ADV just said in the latest post about this versus what we saw in the video is different.

I think they said they'd start going out in mid-Jan through mid-Feb, but yeah, if they're already pushing it back to "late Jan", it does imply it could delay Batch 2.

Yeah, so I watched the video again and he said "Mid January" for Batch 1. Who knows what was actually meant to be communicated, but I think it's clear now that details are important, especialllllllly when communication has already been an issue.

I meant to say they said they said they would be delivering Batch 1 from mid-Jan to mid-Feb, you are right they said originally that would START in mid-Jan, and that does appear to have slipped.

At least it looks fairly clear one or both will be delivering white tops in the spring (sometime). I'd like to swing by Armadillo to see how that's going as well - it's definitely a very different take on the standard concept.

ADV has done a lot of videos, one did talk about install I believe. I remember the one about how their sections screw together, didn't think much of it. Now I believe you have to bolt the sides to the top. I question how strong that connection will be. The TOR top looks it's built like a tank but it's 2 big pieces. Rally has a video where you can see their front piece in the cargo area with half of the rear seat folded down. Rally also looks like it would be the easiest to remove the snow from the top. Rally top in tan? The Eddie Bauer look.
