What is the tear tag?

A tear tag is issued once the vehicle passes the emissions inspection test, which is the last step in Ford’s inspection protocol. If the modules are populated but you don’t see a 4 digit alphanumeric code on the modules page right under the VIN, it means the vehicle is built, but still undergoing inspection, before it is released for shipping.
If it wasn't for this website I would never have known what to look for, thanks everyone!

Mods showed up yesterday but no tear tag yet, guessing I won’t see one till Monday at this point.

Nope. I’ve worn out the refresh button on that page too. My dealer has been out of town on a hunting trip so I’ve been insane with curiosity since Wednesday 1/4/24.

I’m showing in progress as of 01/05. Modules of populated, no tear tag, and no sticker on the Ford public website but it is on the other site.

Everyone needs to relax, next week we will start seeing vehicles ship. The Ford tracker is not reliable and always behind, so sometimes it won’t show “shipped” even after the shipping has already taken place.
I know it is hard when deliverance is so close, but it will happen soon, and when you pick up your Bronco from your dealer with a smile on your face , the tear tag or any of these other silly mileposts will be long forgotten. Just enjoy the ride.
I'm relatively chill. My comment was about more about my blend date being Friday, and the modules being turned on on Friday around 1000....but no tear tag. Our trucks will likely get the tag on Monday, maybe...if the trucks pass whatever inspections need to be passed to receive one. Then the trucks will likely sit around a holding pen for a few days while they build enough trucks to ship to our specific regions and coordinate trucking options from from the train depots to our dealerships. Following the publicly available milestons wont mean much once the vehicle is in hand, but in the meantime it helps build the excitement that will put the smile you're talking about on our faces. It also helps provide some sort of idea of what to expect on my $70K purchase.

It is still fun to know that the vehicle is finally being built. Not just for me but for our entire family. I guess some people can't appreciate what it is like to actually be able to order a vehicle directly from the factory but it's a first for me!

Couldn’t agree more. Last time I ordered a new car and waited for it. It was a 1989 Ford Mustang LX 5 L five speed notch back with 3.08 gears. Took 10 months to get it. But it was exactly the way I wanted it. Was a ton of fun. It’s the only car I wish I never sold.

I just went through this in August on my last Bronco and here I am doing it again now a few months later with this one and it is just exciting and cool as last time for me.

The real fun begins when I get the rail car number and track the train. The BNSF route comes down the mountains and right through my town on the way to Seattle. Late one night I saw the tracker showed the train was about 2 hours from rolling through my town. About 1am I heard it whistle through carrying my Bronco. If it comes though in daylight this time will run down and take a video to see if I can catch the rail car # for kicks.

I think it is super cool that Ford makes all this tracking stuff available for customers. Toyota sure as heck doesn’t!

This is great! My wife worked on a train line and the staff would run into train enthusiasts, called Foamers. The name describes the foam that would build up on the edges of their mouths when talking about trains.

Several years later a foamer moved into the house next door. In full foamer fashion, he painted his house (diy of course) to look just like a Burlington Northern train, orange and dark blue. I had to ask him about his color choices before he explained it to me (he was also a very big year round Halloween guy). I helped him with paint a tromolei mural of trains coming and going on his double garage doors. He would daily go to the train crossing by our house and video and photo trains going by.

I’m proud to be a Bronco Foamer!
Get those train pictures of your bronco on a train rolling through your town. Stake out the shot location!

I’m wondering if the excitement dies down a little after delivery. Or does it just get more intense with mods, adventures, getting stuck, winching stuff.

Let’s go BRONCO NATION! This is your moment! Enjoy your new ride!

Foamer!! lol. I’ve never heard of that one!! Im definitely going to try for a train pic!

Judging from the posts on this forum it seems for most the excitement is always there at some level. You know, I only had my ‘23 bronco about 9 days before it was back at the dealer for a bad gateway module. I never got it back and ford did a buy back on it. I loved it and was stoked every time I even looked at it and it sucked to go through that but I’m psyched to be getting a replacement. Tracking the build on this one is every bit as fun as the first.

Interesting. I'm surprised Ford did a buyback so quick for a single occurrence. Was it a major issue to replace that module or did they find other problems?
