Back at the hotel after a really fun and instructive day. Ace (our guide) was incredible and the Texas course was diverse and challenging. I learned a lot about the Bronco capabilities and solid technique. BTW, the recommended hotel is just “OK”.

I know this is a bit of an older Off-Roadeo thread, but I just booked for Austin in April.

I'm not planning to stay the resort they offer, but would welcome any recommendations from others that have been to the Texas Off-Roadeo. :)

I'd recommend Bee Caves or Llano if you can find rooms. Depending on the time of year, that's a heavy tourist area so get a room now if it's in the Spring, for instance. I don't know it'll be hard right now (November/December).

I had a great time that day! Thanks for the pictures, Lance! You are your wife were awesome. I'm on the far right of the group photo.

1. Ace is the best instructor! If you have any doubt, check out this Bronco Nation video of her (she is great at explaining everything):

2. I only spent one night at the resort. It was okay, but I only used it to sleep and drive back to Dallas. I thought the food they served was really good though.

I wish I had more time to spend. Would love to go back someday!

She grew up in Texas, off-roading all of her life. Her accent is what made it such an authentic experience!

I stayed in downtown Austin and drove out to the ranch the morning of the Off Roadeo. It took me a little under an hour, but it was an easy drive. Similar coming back after everything was done. I didn't know what I would do for the rest of the night in Horseshoe Bay so I was glad that I stayed downtown.
