You have to take the rack off first, then you can remove the clamshell

This is the official “I have a 2 DR Bronco with roof rack, and this is what I’ve taken up there” thread. So post away. Love to see what you’ve put on your racks. I haven’t yet, so I’m ready to dive in.

My old Yakima roof basket, saved from my '89 Jeep Wrangler. Added a Gobi Tacoma steel roof mesh over the T-top. It fits! Paid $150.00 USD. When Gobi realized it fit between the Bronc roof rails from my order, they raised the price to $300.00 USD within 2 weeks of my order. Bronco Tax. T-top, doors off, just wind noise now on the expressway at 70/80mph. Love the ride! Crank the classic tunes, The Main Ingredient, "Everybody Plays the Fool", Supremes, Beach Boys, all the GREAT STUFF! Too bad kids today can't find these immortal classics. "Can't Hurry Love", "Don't Worry Baby". Countless more, too much to write here now. Tommy Bronc

I have gone through so many configurations depending on where I'm going and for how long, that it was hard to answer that question, so I decided to make a collage of the different setups I've gone through. The beauty of the @TrailRax TRMR is that it's extremely modular and you can add/remove things so easily. Here's some of the setups I've had:

To anyone who has mounted their forward crossbar in both front and middle positions: do you notice a difference in wind noise on hwy? I'm thinking about getting the extra crossbar. (And yes, I know I could just move the middle one... I've gotta find some use for those Ford pts after all...)

Bronco is already about as aerodynamic as a brick, so I doubt it would have much effect on mpg... but I've read somewhere that wind noise is worse in the forward position.
