Door removal can be challenging for some, especially trying to not scratch or drop them. Lining up to install the doors is even more difficult. I have been toying with this idea for a while and threw it together real quick to give it a try. You can come up with any number of variations based on my "counterweight" lift idea. (Hey, I searched and did not find anyone doing this.)

I mounted the pulleys where the lift rope would hang right at the center of the door bag grab handle with door fully open. Before removing bolts, slide your door bag all the way on to the door and zip it as far as possible to still be able to access the bolts. This length of rope allows the door to easily swing around to guide it to or from its hinge mounts.

The pulleys were mounted so the counterweight jug could be swapped to either side of the the Bronco and remove either door if needed. I simply turned my Bronco around because I had more room in the shop on that side.

This jug was filled with water to about 40lbs. which worked for me. Did not want it to weigh more than the door, just enough to make the door "float" on the rope.

Don't forget to use this rubber door edge guard along the front fender edge.

This edge guard came from Amazon.
As if we all have 30 ft ceilings in our garage?

FYI the first set of door bags I had were defective on the handles. I was carrying a door and the handle completely separated from the bag at one end. Nearly dropped the door. I would stress test your handles prior to using them like this. Maybe add an outer strap around the bottom for a safety.

Wish someone made something like this for the Bronco:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BV1RZFHC

Agree that removal is easy, but could really use something to help balance the door and reduce risk of banging the fenders when reinstalling.
I know it's been beat to death, but just wish someone would come up with true "Jeep" type half doors. Solid bottom slightly less than half and drop in canvas top. Those doors weigh a third of these, can still give a little privacy, and aren't such a major issue on cost and replacement if they get scratched a little or dinged up. And true drop in adaptor would make them usable, removable drs and should be possible with weight difference. Who would hesitate to buy them that remove their doors? Some genius, please!!

Yes, please, to canvas doors.

And yes, please, to a door jack system.

Actually, if you have a garage ceiling 2 inches taller than your Bronco, this will work. Finding a solid mount for the pulleys is imperative. This idea (counterbalance) has been used for over a hundred years to help raise big heavy windows in homes.

Just so everyone knows the facts..the doors weigh 65lbs each on the 2 door models. Think about a 50 pound bag of dog food, add 15 more pounds to it, wrap your arms around it and then try to make precision movements with that.! LOL.!

Did the door edge guard come with the bags?
The door edge guards don't come with the bags. At least not my bags. The Bronco tool bag should have two little pieces in it along with the pin guide.

Yep, and if you're anything like me, you manage to dinge the door and your Bronco everywhere BUT where you place the two tiny rubber pieces. Been meaning to stop by the dealer and get some touch up paint. :-(
